All eyes on 36 tomorrow.  If he barfs one up they'll have a loooong 4 days off.

Watch - he'll play a steady, quiet game like last time he played. The team will rally around him, because he's well liked. He'll get a shutout, and then Keefe will put the sieve in the next game.

The team doesn't like Andersen?
Apparently because they keep deflecting shots in on him lol..

People do know that goalies can stop deflections right? Just because it's deflected doesn't.mean it's an automatic goal.

Freddie makes his body so small in net the smallest change of angle goes by him.

Yes, yes I do. A few players were overachieving. There powerplay was overachieving. This young team has notoriously been quick out of the gate and as things settle they get worse. This is typical January hockey but just happening in March.

Andersen would be a lot cooler if he could steal a game for use once in awhile.

I gotta ask - which goals did Andersen legitimately whiff on?

To me, the defensive breakdowns were far more concerning than expecting a goalie to stop seeing eye tips from both teams.

Did you guys switch to summer time? I missed the first period.
I hope the second is better than the first one sounds like.
I like that term a lot better than Daylight Saving(s) time [emoji846] but yes we did.

I miss this every season.
I'll be prepared tomorrow. It would be nice with a win for a change. This losing buisness is getting old really fast.

Freddy wasn't responsible for all the goals, he was good, but he wasn't great, and that's what a first goaltender needs to be.

The bigger issue is the lack of offence over the last little while, for the amount of fire power we have, we should be out scoring the other team even if Freddy isn't performing, like we did last year. Remember all those third period come backs last year? Where are they now.

Matthews-Marner-Thornton line hasn't been performing to their ability for some time now. I respect Thornton's career, but we need a solid player to support that line. Likewise, Tavares isn't playing to his ability either. Perhaps a shake up is in order? Matthews with Nylander and Marner with Tavares?

They've struggled defensively at times since the EDM series. The Leafs have played pretty well over the losing streak but need to clean up in their own end. They'll be better tomorrow.

They gave up a lot of scoring chances in that Edm series but the goalies came up big. They've actually looked better defensively during this losing streak they just can't catch any breaks.

Early in the year I didn't like Thornton on the top line, even though they were scoring at a decent rate. Then for a while they seemed to be clicking pretty well. Now, though, I agree that he looks like a bit of a drag in that position and I'd rather see someone else get a shot. Not sure who, do you take Hyman off line 3 and put him there? I might try that.

Tavares has looked off most of this season. Maybe put him with Marner again and put Matthews-Nylander back together for a while.

Thought Galchenyuk looked decent. Good hands, some physical play. We'll see if his compete level/motivation stays at a high level.

Goalies...tough one. Screened/deflected shots are tough (did we get many of those tonight?). One goal was a defensive breakdown with a guy wide open in the slot. Their goalie stopped shots when he had to. Our goalies have both been injured recently and maybe they're just not 100% yet. Need to be better though.

Leafs dominated the third and only had 8 shots.  That?s either a testament to the Flames defenders or an indictment on the Leafs shooters.  I?m leaning towards the latter

I really hate that play they kept trying were they pass to the guy down low how is parallel to the night. The opposition just clogs the middle up and there is no play. They kept trying to force it.

Agreed, Galchenyuk played really well today, fast, great hands, and had the hustle. Considerable upgrade on Vesey so far, hopefully he only improves further from here.

I rather have the top line performing consistently than the third or fourth line, so I'd have no issue putting Thornton lower on the list, but \I'm not sure there's anyone I'd sit over him at this point. Sure he has 3 goals and 9 assists, but who wouldn't playing with Matthews + Marner and getting PP time. Is Robertson back from injury yet?
