Game 10: Leafs @ Capitals 7:00PM LEAFS TV

Will all draft positions be determined by lottery, or just the first overall pick?

Pretty sure it the exact same as before, 1 lottery winner, but they move up to the top selection instead of a maximum of 4 spots.

I do expect a blowout. The Leafs are notoriously bad in back-to-back games.

Notoriously good at being slump busters too. Ovechkin with a hattrick.

My first prediction of the season: Kessel scores tonight.

Now, to return to my lair in the Prognostication Cave.

My buddy's and I joke about it every game.  We'll mention a name of a guy struggling on the oppositon and chalk him up for a good game.

Keith Aucoin scored his first in the NHL in how long?  Grigorenko scored his first ever, Ovy was struggling and scored, yesterday J. Staal scored his first and Cam Ward played his only good game of the season so far.

I got Nik Backstrom scoring tonight.  Jason Chimera too probably.

I forgot they have Mike Ribeiro too.  Expect a bogus penalty call as he snaps his head back without being touched.

Didn't the Leafs beat Washington last time?  There is some hope at least.

I am also hopeless optimist, but mentally I am getting ready for severe beating by the Caps.

Fear not! After starting Reimer over Ward last night in my fantasy pool, I picked up Neuvirth for tonight so inevitably the Caps will get creamed.

Not to mention the fact Scrivens appears to be starting. His last outing wasn't one I care to remember.

Interesting article from our buddy Berger about the always arrogant Glen Healy and the CBC cast of characters who broadcast the Leaf games....

Wasn't sure where else to post this.

Well that was a frustrating article. I personally find that he does have a bias against the Leafs even if they're doing well in the game - he doesn't praise them often.

Sorry Bender. I removed that and put it in  the media thread.

So are the Leafs going to start 4-1 on the road while going 1-4 at home?  I think so.

Decent road team, worst home team in hockey, that is what we have folks.

Thank god they'll start the playoffs on the road...

Who else is in a slump for Washington because thats the guy you want to watch for , Leafs are too predictable , I should be laying money on a Proline bet tonight :)

As per Siegel:

Lines vs. WSH: JVR-Bozak-Kessel. Kulemin-Grabovski-McClement. Frattin-Kadri-MacArthur. Orr-Steckel-Komarov.

D: Phaneuf-Kostka. Liles-Holzer. Fraser-Franson. Scrivens starts.

Notable changes: McClement rejoins Grabovski & Kulemin. MacArthur joins Kadri & Frattin. Komarov onto fourth unit.

IMHO, The success of the Frattin/Kadri duet has Komarov all over it, literally

Komisarek isn't hurt, is he? It's weird to say this, but I'd actually rather have him in the line-up than Holzer.

I said that last night. The way that Holzer played make me miss Komisarek...

Maybe a chance for rendemption...

Maybe he's about to be traded and their keeping out so he doesn't get hurt.

I kid, I kid. I know better.

Ovechkin has offered words of encouragement to Kessel!

?I think after a couple games, you think like, ?OK, I?m gonna have a chance and I?m gonna score,?? Ovechkin said. ?After nine games you feel like big pressure on your shoulder, especially in Toronto. The fans, the media all over him I think. I just wanna give him advice like don?t listen nobody. Just play your game.

?Everybody knows he can score; he?s a top player out there. Lots of players play against him very carefully and give him more pressure. He just have to handle it.?
