Maybe although Gunnarsson was just hit in a similar way (albeit not as hard) and there was no penalty.

Well, the reality of the rule the way it's written is that "not as hard" matters when it's determined whether or not something is boarding.

Point taken. It also states " ...There is also a responsibility on the player with the puck to avoid placing himself in a dangerous and vulnerable position".

I don't believe Letang did that. had he continued the direction he was skating, the contact would've been shoulder to shoulder. He reversed putting himself in a vulnerable position. I highly doubt that the penalty is called if the hit is completely shoulder to shoulder, no matter how hard.

I wish Cole would just fall over. What a tool.

Bob? What's your problem? If you ignore the name mistakes his
cadence is great.

He did have a problem that period with getting really excited over not very exciting moments, but it's being pretty nikpicky, I didn't mind him.

Good first period. Keep it up and we'll walk away with the 2 points. Frattin's goals will come. I have been impressed with his play. He's good defensively, takes the body, has deceptive speed and a great shot. He has not looked out of place. I know if he was with the Marlies he'd be getting top minutes and might be excelling like Colborne which gives them nothing but confidence but like to see him stay.

Sure but that's something with a pretty vague definition. Like I said, I think that the call was pretty consistent with the way boarding is being called around the league where the point of contact matters less than the violence with which a player hits the boards.

So we can debate the standard but I think it was fairly applied there.

pretty even, which is good given we play tomorrow again

The Leafs are playing well in front of Gus and the more Gus plays the better it is for him and for the team. Not what I expected, but great news so far.

I like Lupul a lot and he's played great for the most part this year, but the past two games I've noticed him being physically muscled off the puck a few times, a little disappointing and makes me think he might have a minor niggle.
