Game 15: Sens @ Leafs - 7:00pm, CBC

Last 3 wins are over Mtl, Philly and the Sens by a combined score of 14-2. That is awesome. Our 3 most hated teams.

It wasn't pretty but I'll take it....

Well, that was a functional win against a fairly poor team. Not quite the heights of the Phillie and Montreal games, but still an important two points, with a super shutout for Scrivens

I thought the d played pretty good tonight.  Fraser was tough and Holzer looked good in the Ozone a couple of times.  Not pretty to watch but I'll take a win anytime.

anyone just see that habs en goal?  brutal call by the ref IMO.  clear elbow to the guys face.

Well the windbags on the CBC were right about one thing, with Lupul and Frattin out (and Grabbo sputtering) we're going to have to win games this way

Why was it called a goal?  What is the rule?  The commentator seemed to suggest ashot off the post is a goal?  (My center ice feed was cut in case there was more explanation ...)

I know they won 3-0 and all but I never want to see Orr play 13 min in a game ever again.

I am a huge fan of Fraser and Holzer. They are the best stay-at-home types since Sylvain Lefebvre and Bob Rouse.

57.4 Awarded Goal - If, when the opposing goalkeeper has been removed from the ice, a player in control of the puck in the neutral or attacking zone is tripped or otherwise fouled with no opposition between him and the opposing goal, thus preventing a reasonable scoring opportunity, the Referee shall immediately stop play and award a goal to the attacking team.

If you commit a penalty preventing the puck from entering the net the play results in an automatic goal.  The habs player was tripped by the flyer player causing him to miss the empty net.  The ref neglected to notice that the flyer to an elbow to the face.

edit-beat to the punch by Nik.

I don't think it was that it was missed, I think that Voracek had already committed the foul by draping himself on Bourque and piggy-backing him down the ice.

I couldn't have been more wrong with my prediction for this game, but I'm pretty happy about it. Leafs win, and Scrivens with the SO.
