Second guessing nothing, said this in last nights gd thread. Not a hard game ???, 37 shots is no cake walk no matter where the shots are coming from.
It doesn't matter when you said it first, second-guessing means when somebody not in a position to make a decision criticizes a legitimate decision by somebody who is.
And last night was hardly a difficult game for Scrivens, especially as it went on.
Bottom line: it was a tough decision for Carlyle, and either way he would get criticized if it went south, which it did.

Haha, I guess that would be hindsight. Well I think I would have taken a loss with Rynnas any day over messing with Scrivens who was on top of the world just last night. Now thrust into this game playing tired and with this result I am sure he feels just terrible now. This isn't a vet here, it is a rookie with what less than 10 NHL starts under his belt. I think it was a bad decision and the writing was on the wall. If I was RC, I don't take that risk, just saying.

Your point is totally legit, and in fact in last nite's GDT I suggested Rynnas might be the better choice, but I see why RC did what he did.

I don't think playing Rynnas in any way guarantees a win or even puts them in a better position to win.

Well all I was saying was that I take the sure loss with Rynnas over messing with what Scrivens had going. Walking into a back to back, tired and in the NHL's leading offensive teams barn was not going to end up good.

Wouldn't have guaranteed a better game at all considering Rynnas really isn't ready for the NHL even as a backup.
