Seriously? How many goals did Reimer score when he was in net? How many years in a row can we be a basement dwelling team in special teams before we realize it's coaching? Have we not had enough turn over yet on the team? Is it not the coaches job to get these guys going?

It's pretty clear from the stats the Leafs have played better when Reimer has been in net.

Cause Montreal, Ottawa, Winnipeg and Calgary are all elite teams?

It doesn't take a genius to look at his stats vs. the Leafs record last season, either.

Right, last season.

Let's cut to the chase here.  Argue all you want to about whether this or that piece of crap is Wilson's fault.  The fact is that the team hasn't gotten it done, and he's been here more than 3 years.  At some point you gas the coach.  Burke should have done it last year but he's letting friendship get in the way of a decision that any other franchise would have made long ago.  End of story.

Before or after you give him a decent goaltender? If we had Nicklas Backstrom or Pekka Rinne we wouldn't even be talking about canning Wilson.
Wanna bet? :p

Did you not even look at my post about Minnesota?
Did you not notice the :p at the end of mine?

Good argument, you've got me there.

You must have meant that Minnesota has a horrible PP (27th - 12.1%) because their PK is 14th at 83.3%.

However, being 2nd in the league in save % and fourth in GAA is a good indication why they have allowed 22 fewer goals than the Leafs coming into tonight's games.

this team cannot play the way burke/wilson want them to.there is not enough talent so why won,t they make some adjustments.i am sick and tiired of watching the leafs lose.worst pk and a terrible pp.receipt for failure.something has to give.

Leafs had 21 attacking shifts for a total of 3:48. Coyotes had 17 attacking shifts for a total of 2:53. That's just even strength.

Leafs dominated that period possessionally at even strength. 27 shifts on the attack for 6:07. Phoenix had 22 shifts on attack for 3:13.

Dave Tippet's systems are better. FIRE WILSON.

Most coaches in the league can craft a defensive scheme that accounts for less-that-elite goaltending.    He hasn't done it.  And, just in case you have forgotten, he never got it done in SJ with far better goaltending than he got here.

In this league if you don't win, you're gone.  It's well past time to try a different coach.

Let me put the onus on you: What's the downside to firing Wilson?

Sorry, I don't have a feel for your sense of humour yet.

Most coaches will never win the Cup, but that doesn't make them poor coaches.  San Jose hasn't won since he left either - but his track record with San Jose in many areas was very, very good.

No more smartass comments? No more throwing rookies under the bus?

There's a fairly wide canyon between less-than-elite goaltending and the quality of netminding the Leafs have seen for the past 3+ seasons.

Yet we'd still have a terrible PP.

Ottawa has won more games then should IMO because of a very good PP. Special teams matter, and Wilson hasn't had either in his time here (although the PK can be partially if not largely attributed to suspect goaltending).

I think this is the first time ColaBear has been used since Carlo got traded!

Is this Lombardi's best game as a Leaf? I noticed someone else mention him earlier as well

Hey, we got a goal by a defenseman; fancy that.

Gardiner's really not playing great. he's made a lot of passes that miss by 2 to 3 feet.
