Game 18 - Yotes @ Leafs - 11-15 - 7PM SportsNet

sigh

The game is soon to be out of reach. Already!

I imagine I am about as enthused to watch the rest of this debacle as the Leafs appear to want to play it.

That's what worries me - the type of style the Leafs haven't figured out how to score past yet.

They're not the only team, though. Phoenix has something like a .900 winning percentage when scoring first since Tippet took over behind the bench.

Ah I do love when Kessel burns round the outside like that. That's about all there is worth watching these days.

True.

Ban the trap! Ban boring hockey!

Mike Smith may be insulated by Tippet's system, but you have to be pretty decent to make the last couple of saves like he did.

Oh boy dropping another deuce at home I see

Haven't won here yet in November

The two remaining visitors are Washington and Boston.  Keep pushing this one out in the bed we could go the whole month.

You have to figure Burke is working the phones looking for a reliable goalie.  Gus just hasn't been able to find consistency, and in fairness to Scrivens, he's probably not ready for this yet.

With all due respect to scrivens, he's 25, so he's no fresh faced kid out there. If it isn't going to happen soon then I don't think he'll make it in the NHL.

Goose seems fine to me in the role he started out with, Scrivens has shown flashes of brilliance and that's a good sign but the Leafs need a starter, they can't run with 2nd and 3rd string goaltending for much longer the way it is.

True they need to shore up some frustrating bad habits defensively but with yo-yo goaltending those negative issues/tendencies are magnified noticeably.

At the same time, this is only his 2nd season in professional hockey. He still has a season or two to establish himself.

This is the leafs "coming on"?

The Coyotes haven't had it in our end much of the last 10:00.  If this was happening to the Leafs I'm sure we'd be hearing on here how awful we are.  I think we're getting some chances and some pressure.
