I dunno, I still think my statement was pretty spot-on. I mean had Phaneuf slashed and serious hurt Komarov or went number two on the ice the ref would have probably called the play dead, which is of course much better than causing an odd-man rush the other way.

Next time, I suggest adding "literally" in front. Such as "literally couldn't have played worst." Completely takes out any ambiguity, literally.

Mark Fraser leads the NHL in +/- with +14. Very impressive. I do not recall the last time a Leaf was leading in any stat department league wide.

Is Kulemin's other nickname still banned? For some reason that has stuck with me.

I hope so, it's a vulgar term in a foreign language.

I did not know that.

Means "low skilled worker"

I knew that, I just didn't know it was from a foreign language.

oh no, it's *way* worse than 'low skilled worker' I'm afraid.  :-[

Cling to that all you want, not only is it a proper name here in good old North America ( meaning 'merciful' from the Latin 'clemens' ) but I asked the man himself and he laughed, so, carry on.

By the way, you can spell McClement...

McClement has been an amazing addition to our team defensively, his work on the PK was so important last night, his battle for the puck and then the EN really summed him up.

Quite a change from Phillipe Dupuis huh?

Oh huge, I do find it somewhat difficult to criticize Dupuis though, he was 100% effort all the time, he just wasn't very good, hard to blame him for anything, the coaches should have realized that much earlier.

He was an AHL top six 'scorer' who was asked to play defensively in the NHL.

Jay Mc is just an absolute force defensively, I honestly haven't seen a defensive forward have this kind of impact on a team since that shutdown line Anaheim had when they went to the cup.  I believe it was Sammy Palhsson, Travis Moen and Rob Neidermayer.

If we can get to a point of having Komarov with McClement and maybe Kulemin then we could go a long way to recreating that.

From the limited time I've seen him play, he reminds me of tom Fitzgerald...

He also leads the league in team save % when he is on the ice at .980.  Pretty amazing and interesting how those stats both line up like that.

We shouldn't be surprised if that starts to come down, though.  Don't know if it actually is, but I would guess that is quite above average.  In a shortened season though, it might stay well above average.

4 of the 5 teams in the Northeast are in the top 10 overall in the league.  Tough division so far.

Probably the toughest in the league right now. Only 7 teams have won 11 or more games so far this season, 4 in the Northeast.
