Still, I think you're right in that he and Suter are the top two Norris candidates. I think Suter has the edge though.

I'd agree if it weren't for Karlsson's win last year.

so whats everyone doing for the game tonight?  I'm going to watch it at a friends house, with some other Hab fans. I'll call this brave. 8)

Isn't Subban's partner Markov?  Phaneuf has had to play with an AHLer for half the season.

Markov's a good player but he's never been taken for a defensive stalwart. If we're going to filter their numbers through the offensive talent they're playing with in general I think they're roughly on par with each other.

Subban's partner in Montreal the past two seasons has typically been Josh Gorges, who is a pretty good defensive defenceman.

Still, I think you're right in that he and Suter are the top two Norris candidates. I think Suter has the edge though.

Both have really solid D partners. Subban plays with Gorges and Suter has been playing a lot with Brodin.

Typically the voters for the Norris go for who has the most points or the best reputation. It'll probably be Subban's year.

Not sure why the Cdn's are so up in the standings.
I gotta admit i have not followed hockey to much since the lockout.
This is a weird thing for me this season.

Still hate the Habs though i just don't get how their leading this division.
The Mini me's.

any confirmation on grabovski for this game?  i mean like either way

David Alter ‏@DavidAlter590 2h
Grabovski is available to the #leafs tonight. Carlyle says he'll make a decision on his status later this afternoon.

Paul Hendrick ‏@HennyTweets 1h
Reimer/ price tonight. Grabovski is a game time decision. Optional skate for the leafs so no idea about who plays untill pre game

Mark Masters ‏@markhmasters 2h
Grabovski downplays stomach ailment; says he's good to go tonight

Jonas Siegel ‏@jonasTSN1050 3h
Grabovski getting extra work after today's skate. As noted last night, would not be a surprise if he didn't play tonight.

Jonas Siegel ‏@jonasTSN1050 3h
Leafs may be looking to get Grabovski some rest after recent intestinal issues, weight loss etc.

Chris Johnston ‏@reporterchris 3h
Mikhail Grabovski is on the ice with the #leafs. Doctors in New York didn't find any problems with him.

Looks like we'll know more come game time

so am i nuts for thinking that maybe ..just maybe some of his reduction of minutes on the ice has been due to the leafs trying to get him healthy?

Nope. Nor would you be if you suspected that up until now, they were keeping his condition quiet.

Grabovski on a line with MacArthur and Komarov in pre-game rushes. Looks to be in tonight. Will await confirmation.

Terry Koshan ‏@koshtorontosun 6m
#Leafs Grabovski between MacArthur and Komarov; Gardiner paired with O'Byrne

Mark Masters ‏@markhmasters 7m
Based on pre-game line rushes: Gardiner in for Liles ... looks like Grabovski w/ MacArthur & Komarov ... Frattin w/ Kadri & Kulemin

Jonas Siegel ‏@jonasTSN1050 8m
Lines vs. MTL: JVR-Bozak-Kessel. Frattin-Kadri-Kulemin. MacArthur-Grabovski-Komarov. McLaren-McClement-Orr.

David Alter ‏@DavidAlter590 9m
Jake Gardiner in and JM Liles out on Defence, Grabovski in the lineup, centres MacArthur, Komarov, Frattin in with Kadri and Kulemin.

Looks probable that he'll be playing.

For those who want a quick glance:

JVR-Bozak-Kessel
Frattin-Kadri-Kulemin
MacArthur-Grabovski-Komarov
McLaren-McClement-Orr

Gunnarsson-Phaneuf
Fraser-Franson
Gardiner-O'Byrne

Kinda nice that a Leafs-Habs tilt means something.
And with 8 games to go... even better that we are cheering for a win, and not a loss for a better draft pick...
