Honestly, if you showed me that roster and asked me to guess if it was the Minnesota Wild or some team of mine in Eastside Hockey that I'd played until 2014 or so I have no idea if I'd have gotten it right.

Referencing Eastside in a GDT?  You win MotM Nik, before it's even played.

And I concur - how in the name of time is that an NHL roster?

51 > 49, so while it's obviously a lineup due to their injuries, the Leafs still shouldn't be taking them lightly.

Yeah, I didn't mean to say they were a pushover or anything, it's more just general amazement at how pedestrian the roster appears.  Goaltending and good systems make a big difference, I suppose.

I'd just like to point out that tonight's game features two teams that, at one point this season, were 1st overall in the league and now sit outside the playoffs. Can't imagine that happens all that often.

What was it, back in November, when some outlet ran a story that figured the percentages of teams making it into the playoffs when they are out of it at that point, and vice versa.  We seem to be defying the odds.

Well the article didn't make any comments about teams positions in mid-January after being in a playoff position in November.

While, that's true, they have 2 wins and have earned only 8 points in their last 16 games - they've been playing .250 hockey for over a month now.

Leafs lose again, this time because they were stupid enough to split up Kessel and Lupul.  That is like splitting up the Sedin's, who does that?

I want to see a team that is aggressive, forechecking hard and winning all the battles in the corner and getting some puck luck and some good goaltending for a lopsided win.

What time are the Bruins on?  ;)

Seriously though...I think we're in for a good night.

I don't think Kessel and Lupul are identical twins who have played together their entire life.
