Game 48: Habs @ Leafs - Apr. 27, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

There are a lot of reasons why we shouldn't like this game.  There are those that would say we should have sheltered Reimer after a shutout and keep him stoked heading into the playoffs.  The line combos are kind of whack with Colborne on the 2nd line, Kostka again playing.  What it comes down to though is this is a tuneup.  If this didn't seem so g@d damn similar to the last month of games I would be ok, but the lack of effort, forecheck and shots have just drained me.

Wow, so many fickle fans. Feel free to jump off the bandwagon.

Been a diehard dedicated fan for nearly 40 years. Seen a lot. Unfortunately not a cup and never jumped off the bandwagon. Said earlier this year team is heading in the right direction with some good tools and pieces but a ways to go and last few weeks clearly shows that.
Exactly. We've come a long way since last year, and to expect a cup or even final four is thinking over opptimistic. You need 4 losses in a best of seven series and by my count its 2-2 against the Habs this season with one of them being 2 weeks ago and by a bigger margin then this. Just saying....

I've watched every game against the Habs this year and as much as I hate to say it they have been the better team on most nights including the last loss. They carried the play most of that game Price s@@t the bed.

You know, it only looks like they're not trying because they're losing. Nobody is looking for the team to generate offence when they are winning. It's all about perspective.

I have a feeling that Kessel no longer wants to be on this team.

I'm sure he's tired of carrying the scoring for years on a loosing team. Although he's not really a team guy or a complete player, and there's been questions about his conditioning, the crap he has taken in the media this year especially near the trade deadline after leading the leafs in scoring would make anyone bolt. Either this year or next, he's gone. And that makes me sad.  :'(

I thought Kessel looked dead tired more than anything else.

I'm still hoping he re-signs but anyone who thought he was a shoe-in to stay and take a discount were out to lunch.

I think there's the comfort factor that will work to Toronto's favour in convincing him to stay. He may get flak from the media, but generally speaking, I'm willing to bet he feels a lot happier and more accepted playing with the guys here than in Boston.

You know I probably take a loss harder than anyone on this site especially against the Habs who I detest. Win or lose they are games when you are satisfied with the outcome. When the Leafs win but win ugly Im as happy as the next guy for the 2 points but I will honestly say we deserved it or got lucky. I would actually prefer to lose and play well than win ugly on a consistent basis. If we keep playing like this and win it will be ugly and all comes down to Reimer.

Anyway goodnight everybody. See you Tuesday or Wednesday and lets hope we see a better effort and all round game and most importantly a win.

Your not aloud to go to bed, you need to stew in your agony like the rest of us.

Clb is out, I feel bad for them they had a hell of a run.  May even deserve it more than we do.

They deserve it infinitely more than Minnesota does.

ANYTHING can happen in the playoffs.

Reimer is amazing, Kessel is amazing, Lupul is amazing, Kadri is pretty good, McClement is pretty good, and Phaneuf is pretty good. If the rest of the team can hold tight, we have a shot every night.

We made the playoffs!! Who would have guessed at the beginning of the season, besides Nutman? GO LEAFS GO

What is Cherry saying? Not watching the game. I remember an old video about Cherry yapping about women yapping at hockey games. Hahaha hypocrisy at its finest!

I think he was saying that women shouldn't be in the hockey dressing rooms with all the naked guys walking around, and if they are allowed to be, then men should be allowed in the women's dressing rooms as well. At least that's what it sounded like.

Thanks for the update.

How did Cherry come across this subject? Did the actual guys in the dressing room raise the issue? Otherwise, it ain't Cherry's to raise. And that whole men in the women's room makes him sound like the dirty old perv that he is. If that's what he said. Ugh 2-1 Habs

I think he got to this subject after the situation between Duncan Keith and a female reporter from Team 1040 in Vancouver. Little bit of background on that.

Yep they surprised us to get to the playoffs, now it is time to surprise us again by playing above the level they have been of late.

I was there,.....

Highlight of the game :

The bathroom break I took between the second and third period. Best number 1 ever. Everything else resembled a turd sandwich.
