Game 5 - Jets @ Leafs - Wednesday Oct 19th 2011 - 19:30 EST - TSN 4-2 Win

I don't wish Armstrong any harm, but the initial report didn't sound good. One good thing is that it might allow Kadri to get back into the line-up (unless of course Connolly returns first). While Frattin is certainly a more complete player at this point and always will be, I think this line-up could use Kadri's skill right now more than that.

I agree, he at least needs the chance to prove himself. I don't agree with punishing players for being injured. There are other players right now that are taking up a spot that shouldn't, namely one of Orr or Rosehill.

Man, gotta wonder how short Wilsons leash is. Yes its looking like only two losses in 5 games but this team is playing with no discernable system in sight.

It's kinda hard to when 2-3 (Schenn, Gunnar, Gardiner?) of your d-men are playing terribly and Armstrong is out. The Grabbo line also hasn't shown up, which doesn't leave you with much.

That's what baffles me. It's like the Grabbo line forgot how to play hockey and the other lines are just trying to weather the storm.

Time to juggle the lines a bit I think. Might not do anything, but like you said the Grabs line just isn't showing anything right now and hasn't for the majority of this short season.

Without secondary scoring, there's no way they're beating Boston back to back. I feel like the Leafs are playing with 1 line tonight. Grabovski's line doesn't have a shot and the other two lines are practically non-existent.

They have to figure out these special teams yesterday.

Not sure I can bring myself to watch the 3rd period :s It's 2am and I have a 7am wake up call. I'm not being inspired to stay awake!

On the flipside, Gardiner has impressed me a lot more than Franson so far. But I think I'd even take Komisarek out and put in both Franson and Gardiner. For every step forward Komi takes, he takes three back.

.500 record by Saturday?

By tomorrow night - there's no way a team that plays like this is beating Boston.

Have you seen Boston this year?

Dude, you're going to wear yourself out. They'll lose a lot this year.

It's okay, thanks.

Admittedly no, but I have watched our last two games.

I think a game against Boston could bring out some more energy (kinda like it does against Montreal typically), although it could just be two teams playing ugly hockey against each other.  And Boston doesn't even play run-and-gun ugly hockey.

Yeah, it's 9 here, and I'm looking at retiring this one.

I make sure to let all of my internet discussions affect the rest of my day.  My friends will find me in a padded room.  Gently rocking.

Well I hope so...we've seen so much bad hockey over the past few years, we deserve it! I'd be happy if Kessel scored against the B's.

I think Steckel has inherited from Sjostrom the coveted Shayne Corson Memorial "Oh Good, that Leaf has some space in the Offensive zo...oh" Trophy.

I'm not sure if Wilson will sit him (or even Komi), but I think Schenn has looked worse tonight. Both of Komi's penalties were weak.

It's one thing to not score or even get a decent chance on a PP.  It's another to not even get into the zone -- against a team which, according to the pregame guys, "gives up a ton of chances."

No organization at all on the PP.  Whose fault is that?

Seriously, I don't want to be tiresome but I just don't see how you could avoid the conclusion that coaching has something to do with it.  All I know is I am sick of watching the same failures year after year.

I prefer Gardiner to Franson, but it'd be nice to see both in the lineup. One of Komisarek/Schenn can sit... having both of them is redundant at this point.
