Game 5 - Jets @ Leafs - Wednesday Oct 19th 2011 - 19:30 EST - TSN 4-2 Win

Little bit of history between the two teams from the Jets last season in the NHL:

The 2011-12 season will feature many memorable moments for the re-born Winnipeg Jets.

In the only game on Wednesday's schedule, the Jets visit the Toronto Maple Leafs (7 p.m. ET, TSN, RIS). From 1993-96, the Leafs and the previous incarnation of the Jets played together in the Central Division.

The last time Toronto hosted Winnipeg was March 13, 1996, a game that ended in a 3-3 tie.

Dave Andreychuk scored a pair of power-play goals for the Maple Leafs and assisted on a score by Doug Gilmour. Mike Eastwood scored twice for the Jets, including the game-tying goal in the third period, while Keith Tkachuk's power-play goal in the first period started the scoring.

Only two active NHL players remain from that game: Winnipeg's goaltender that night, Nikolai Khabibulin, went on to win a Stanley Cup in 2004 with Tampa Bay and now plays in Edmonton, while Shane Doan remained with the original Jets franchise after it relocated to Phoenix following the 1995-96 season, and is now the Coyotes captain.

Franson was bad last game, but I think the one-and-done mentality is stupid to pull him.  He's a better NHL'er than Gardiner at this point.  However I do like that Orr and Rosehill are sitting in a game where neither are needed...I hope it isn't because of injury alone.
Hasn't Franson played the last 2 games?  Seems fair enough, Gardiner got 2, then Franson got 2.

Easy proline money tonight if you picks the Jets.

What are the odds?

Looked on their site and can't really figure it out.

V+ is 3.00. Does that mean if Winnipeg wins by 2 or more you win 3X your money?

No clue, the only one I ever play is the basic proline (once or twice a season) and usually stick to the pick a winner game, not even sure what its called. Maybe someone else can explain it to us.

Also don't you have to bet 3 games minimum?

What happens on a day where there's only 1 game?

You could toss in a football game or baseball, or any other sports games they allow betting on for that particular pro-line game. You can mix and match between sports I'm pretty sure.

Reimer is starting?  I would have thought they'd get Gus in against the easier opponent.  Gonna be a tough game in Boston...

-Gus has the better numbers vs. the B's (including a shutout).
-Probably better to get your first start on the road.
-Good to have Reimer play right away after a not-so-great previous start.

Appears James Reimer will start tonight against the Jets. Which would mean Gustavsson gets tomorrow's game in Boston.

I wonder why Wilson is making that choice, is Goose's record better against the Bruins?

A bit less pressure to start on the road?

Also, maybe to give Reimer the chance to bounce back after not his best game - something he did very very well last year.

My assumption as to why Reimer gets tonight's game:
Toronto News: Manitoba native James Reimer gets the start tonight against the Jets.

I could see that being the case if the game was in Winnipeg, but since it isn't I'd hope Wilson wouldn't use that reason to decide who plays.

He hasn't called a press conference yet?  Probably too busy crying to his agent.

The loyalty of Leafs Nation everyone!

I am loyal to the crest on the front of the sweater, not the name on the back.

Players must be used as a means to an end, discarded at the first sign of weakness, ineptitude, contempt or subterfuge.

All of the above, and I'll add in that you want to make sure you nail W's against the teams you're supposed to beat.

Well it was more to do with Franson playing well in his first game and not so well in his second game whereas I felt Gardiner looked outmatched in both games.
