Game 57. TOR vs. CGY. 9:00pm EST.

hard to like this team right now ...i don't know .... can't really change much ..i don't want them ruining the next few years just because they want to right the ship now ....

They only play well when there is no pressure.

A nice 8-9 game losing streak really takes the pressure off and lets these losers relax

Leafs put it off for way too long this year that's why they look so stressed

It's annoying...Gusto played amazing when Reimer was hurt. But the second Reimer is back Gus' leash is shortened to 1 cm.  His confidence was high, now it is shot again because Burke and Wilson need to play Reimer to justify signing him for 3 years when he had a strong half of one season.

I was joking when I suggested Reimer next game, but now I think we might actually see it.  :-[

Debate of goaltending psyches aside, I don't think you can pin much on Gus tonight.  Pretty much every Flames goal was from a far too easy scoring location.

Only one you can really put on him is the penalty shot, and even that situation isn't his fault.

Wowzers.  If we blow the game tomorrow nite we're looking at a 6-game losing streak, because these dudes ain't going to be beating Vancouver, that's for sure.

Jesus man a little bit of positive mojo if you please. I spent a small fortune on tickets for that game. If we loose to the oil i am not allowing my other half to wear her stinking nucks jersey.

Man did we suck a big one tonight. Looked about as organized as a bunch of baked rasta's on skates.

That was a whole lot of horrific defensive coverage tonight.  I could understand some of the odd man rushes but Calgary must have had 10 unimpeded one-timers in the slot tonight.  It was like watching NHL 97'

I well remember early in the season saying I thought our problem would be scoring, not defense, and cw saying it would be defense.  How right he was.  And I mean the entire team defense.

The scoring for the most part has been a big surprise but like I have stated on numerous occasions and been going on forever the team defense, 5 on 5 and good scoring chances we give up on most nights is inexcusable and has been that way for all of Wilson's tenure. When we play like this we lose on most nights and unless you have a stellar netminder isn't going to win you many playoff games if we even get there.

I'm with you.  The team has really found its true level, which is bubble at best.  I'm not in favor of dealing away any of the young players for an established player between now and the deadline.  Let this core group play on and make your adjustments in the off-season.  Even if we lucked into the playoffs, it will be short stay.

Back to back nights on the road and after a loss, you can almost guarantee it. In fact, I imagine that was the plan all along, and anything short of Gustavsson standing on his head and absolutely stealing the game wouldn't have changed it.

Exactly.  It would be very very nice if Reimer could steal one for us tomorrow.

IMO we should be sellers except that any piece that we'd want to move is severely under-performing or just plain terrible.

Almost time to gas up the Tank???  ;)

Oh I didn't realize that game was tomorrow.  Well Reimer better be ready for a comeback then.

I forget didn't he have a good record after getting shelled last year?  Of course if was had pre-'concussion-like symptions' Reimer from last year we wouldn't be talking this way.

I caught so much flack for starting the Tank for Stamko's thread a few years back....That word "tank" seems to grate on some fans nerves.

It just bothers me how quick Wilson and Burke get behind Reimer but lose confidence in Gus. Reimer's first game back was a fluke shutout of a 2nd back-to-back where the Pens hit a couple posts. Then an easy Ott game and Edm game and two stinkers against Philly and Montreal. So far Reimer has yet to show he is better than Gus when it comes to playing a quality team.

No question they should go with Reimer tomorrow. But if he plays his typical mediocre game of late I say you give Gus the next 3-4 games NO MATTER HOW HE PLAYS.  He has provided the Leafs with the most stable goaltending for the longest time this season.

At least we have a good coach

Only problem is that he coaches the marlies.

Thats my biggest beef with RW. He seems to have no ability to think on the fly and throw a few monkeys into the wrench.

I am really starting to get sick of Kulemin. Hard work only gets you so far. He needs to start scoring. I don't care if he's snakebit -- 5 goals is just not going to cut it. That wraparound play would have tied it at 2 and it could have been a different result.

I want to see Gustavsson get a bit of a run, but it makes sense to go with Reimer tomorrow. But this team is not going to accomplish much if they can't score for the life of them.

I'll take some positives and despite this bad play of late, we still hold a playoff spot. Pretty remarkable to be honest. Now let's win tomorrow.

The Leafs have 3 NHL caliber forwards.  THREE.  3 forwards of the 12 are NHL legit players.  Not many teams would play a Brown on a regular shift.

Total f'n bunk.  Komi and MacArthur are a pieces of DUNG.

Calgary has Stajan
But we have a really good coach.
Good-night all.
Hey Burke your buddy is doing a great job . Great coach.
