Game 57. TOR vs. CGY. 9:00pm EST.

The passing stuck out tonight as particularily terrible among a bunch of other things.

Not only thier inability to connect on passes but the decision making with respect to passing.

The team is a complete mess right now, particularly in the defensive end.  Liles is rapidly crashing back down to Earth, and Phaneuf, Schenn, and Komi continue to fail to live up to their contracts.  Burke has big problems up and down the line-up, and he has no one to blame but himself.

In the post-game interview, Wilson doesn't even know who he had in net, thinks Kulemin has had a bit of bad luck and was impressed by Connolly's skating....I think they are all ready for "Skating With The Stars"!!!!

What an idiot. The more I hear his interviews the more I think he's losing it. We had a couple defensive miscues early and they capitalized. Ron went on all game and for the most part the whole time you've been here. What the f**k are you teaching these guys, but he was impressed with Connolly's skating. Must of been that great decision of yours to move him up to the top line. The guy needs to go and as much as I like Burke I almost think he needs to follow solely for the reason that he's kept this idiot around for so long.

I only paid about 1/3 attention to that game but noticed Kulemin looking seriously alive again.  He also appeared to be on the LW, where he was last year and not where he has been this year.

Anyone know if that was the case?

what do you want him to say?  and Coaches dont do much if anything.  He makes the roster, decides the lines, shortens the bench..thats about it.  dont excpect an NHL coach to teach anything.

Coaches are overrated, teams will genarally win or lose despite the coach.

Dave Tippet might disagree.

So would Bowman and Burns to name but a couple.

A good coach let alone a great one is someone who can think outside the box and on his feet. Motivates players without throwing em under buses and brings up the level of knowledge and play to another level.

It irks me to see us getting blown out and Ron's just standing there, not talking to anyone, not upset in the least and looking like he is thinking about where he's gonna go eat after the game is done.

Doubtful, Both of those coaches know how to win and give the players the correct tools to win. That's why they have winning records and numerous cups between them. Wilson not even a .500 coach at best.

If something is broken or not working, RW keeps plugging away waiting for a round peg to fit into a square hole.

Bowman or Burns would be getting out a saw and cutting the peg to fit.

I can agree with you to a certain extent. I will admit a coach can obviously look better with a good team on the ice but he still has to prepare the team and get the best out of them every night. I'm sure they practice all kinds of things whether it's PP,PK breakouts, a system, I can go on and on. The way I look at it the coach has to try and improve these areas of the game. If things aren't working then they need to address things and change something. I have posted numerous times about my hate for Ron and the single most concern I have is the areas of the game we have been absolutely dismal since he got here. The PK has been bottom or near bottom of the league. Our GAA has been bottom or near bottom every year. Our 5-5 play without the puck defensively in our own zone has been horrible in his tenure. What irks me is why hasn't any of this improved over the last 3-4 years. That's where the coaching should come in. Like the old sayin goes if it aint broken don't fix it. In our case a lot has been broken and needs to be fixed. We've been spinning our tires since Wilson took over. Meanwhile Burke gives him an extension. I don't give a rats ass how many wins he's got. He's coached over 1300 games of course he's going to be up there in wins. Far as I'm concerned it's what have you done for me lately. He's coached 302 games behind the Leaf bench and with that 129 wins and 130 losses and 43 OT losses. This is his 18th season as a coach and his teams have missed the playoffs 9 times not counting this season which may very well be 10. I know when Burke got here he and Ron inherited a crappy team. 3 1/2 years have gone by and nothings changed other than Burke has made us younger. Players have come and gone. Coaches have been changed and still the same sh*t. So either Burke should be gone for his trades or evaluation of players or Ron needs to go. As far as I'm concerned it should be Wilson. He's an average coach plain and simple.
