Game 58. TOR at EDM. Starting real late for those of us in the East, 10pm.

It's always bugged me that the rink in Edmonton is backwards. The cameras should behind the penalty box looking at the bench.

As you all know I still wish we could have traded Komisarek for Eager.  :(

As much as I'd love for the Leafs to be rid of Komisarek's contract, Eager is a gutless little puke that I'd rather never see in a Leafs uniform.

To me, this game is a perfect example of why the league needs to find a way to cut down on the trapping defensive game.  I realize it takes discipline and smarts to play that system, and that's fine, but compared to this, it makes for awful hockey.  This is so much more enjoyable to watch.

x2.

the pp is atrocious.. it's just a momentum builder for the other team, I would rather they didn't get any more.

I'm really starting to hate this little drop pass play on the powerplay.

When executed properly the trailer picks up the puck at full speed in fraction of a second after its dropped. In Leafs' case the puck sits there for few seconds before another player gets it, by then the play is useless.

I dunno.  We're terrible at dumping it in and then recovering the puck.  Might as well enter the zone with speed.

The thing is they aren't.  Or at least aren't doing it effectively.  They either do one too many drop passes or leave the puck sitting there too long and let the defense adjust and recreate their neutral-zone wall just inside the blueline that once again kills any advantage that the speed would give them.
