Nylander needs to play with someone good.
Sounds like a repeat from last year and at times this year also with Matthews. Babs refuses to adjust during games and when he does attempt to adjust he does it for a shift or 2.
A prime example is the PK. The personal isn't getting the job done so change it....nope, not Babs.
Don't the special teams coaches deserve some of this criticism?

In the past I've left family reunions, birthdays, holidays, picnics to go home and watch the Leafs in the playoffs.

Friday night I had a choice to make and decided to put myself in an area where it was not possible to watch.

I cam home late last night to make sure PVR is set for this goofy time and to decide if I'm watching it.

The answer is no since...you know...Friday win...but it's14 minutes after 3 and I'm getting weak.

But I will persevere.

Hopefully reading this thread after the game will be....epic....

So...very disappointed but I must say not watching/listening my stress level was way way down and my BP as normal...even after reading this thread.

Not sure what to do for Game 7. Drugs and alcohol are fairly near the top though.

Absolutely they do. They need to change things up. Here's the first thing I'd do. Put an f'n centre out there to take the PK draw. Hyman was 0-5 and 1-6 overall. For the PP, how about leaving them on for 1 1/2 mins instead of 50 seconds. The 2nd unit is shit so why bother. OV plays almost all of the PP for the Caps. Why can't we use our best for most of it? The pk needs an overhaul. Outside of Brown, who's been on for only 1 pk goal against, the rest of the usual guys haven't been good.

Just looking at some stats...
Shots...
JT 3. Marner and Hyman 0.
Nylander 1, Marleau 1, Brown 1.
Matthews 5, Kappy 3 Johnsson 1.
4th line.. 0 shots.
Only the Matthews line were on for more shots for the against today along with Rielly.

Babcock is too stubborn to make any changes. So much obvious crap we agree on here that he does and continues to do.

Been like that most of the year. Rinse and repeat I have said before and I?ll say it again.

Like I stated earlier if we lose game 7 I?m going to be pissed because we have the better team, but if it means Egocock possibly gone that?s fine with me.

It?s actually a little shameful that Andersen had to endure 42 SOG.  As always, he kept his team in the game no matter what. (*sigh*)

Credit goes to the Bruins for playing it the way an experienced team should.

Maybe there?s a silver lining to all this, that the Leafs will play better AND win in Beantown.  Less pressure, better concentration.

If the Leafs flunk out again, I?m going into hibernation. 🥴

The simple fact he refuses to put out a centre to start the pk is ridiculous. That JT guy is pretty good at faceoffs last I checked. Same crap all year, same personal.

I've decided not to watch, better for my well being

I see references to Babcock maybe being gone if we lose game 7. Does anyone really believe that? I sure don't.

I will probably put the game on Tuesday but there's no way I'm watching Boston win another game 7. Will turn it off before it gets to that point. Can't take it again. Might even turn it off if we get a 3 goal lead especially in the third period because...you know why!

I'd be absolutely shocked if they canned Babs if they lose the series. While I don't like some of the things he does, it's up to the players to perform. Some haven't.

True.  It would be a high risk move for Dubas.  I would be willing to bet, however, he would turn the bench over to Keefe tomorrow.

I should add, I don?t think it?s entirely his decision.

It definitely wouldn't be. Babs has what, 4 years left at 6 mill per?

Agreed. He has at least one more season before it becomes a serious consideration.

I think so.  And he is Shanny?s hire.

They could lose 12-0 on Tuesday and Babcock won't get fired.  And he shouldn't.  Back to back 100-point seasons show he's doing something right.

That said ... I agree with Busta that if the lose Tuesday, and don't win a round next year, he could be in jeopardy.  This has been an even series and I rather doubt any one of his coaching "irregularities" has cost them a game.  But I do think he doesn't get the last 10% out of the lineup because of his coaching.  I'll be real interested in how he handles the bench if they fall behind by a couple of goals early on Tuesday.

I like the way you put that ZBBM and agree he doesn't get that last 10% out of the team. Maybe Babs will win the coach battle in game 7.

And just a word about the reffing: aside from Game 2 I don't really have a problem with it this series.  I don't want to see playoff games with a parade of PPs, even if they are doled out evenly.  In any case, the refs didn't make the Leafs inexplicably passive on the first 2 PKs, or cause their equally flaccid PP to get skunked.

The coaches' complete inability to fix the PP post-October is their biggest failing this year.  Aside from some short-lived "fixes" the damn thing looks exactly the same as when opposing teams figured it out around Armistice Day.  Just mind-boggling.  It may end up costing them this series.

Man...I really think the Leats have let the Bruins off the mat. The way the game started and how bad the Leafs were making Boston look again for the first 10 minutes, I thought this was over. Then Marchand, Bergeron and Pastrnak looked like they got their legs under them, and the tides turned.

Matthews has been great since Game 3. Andersen?s been solid. Give Rielly the ?C?. The others need to step up.

The Leafs were rolling until the penalty and the Bruins scoring on the PP.
As for Matthews. He's played well in every game minus game 2 where everyone crapped the bed not named Freddie.
JT and Marner really need to pick it up. Marner has 1 shot in the last 3 games. Not good enough. Rielly has been great.
