Game 6 - Toronto Maple Leafs @ Boston Bruins L6-2

Well 4-1-1 ain't bad

And I'm sure people have had the "they are last year's champions" in the chamber since before the game started

We were saying similar things early in the season last year, until all of a sudden were .500 with a million ot losses.  Ron's got to start ensuring that the team is ready out of the gate.

I like to try what Erndog was talkin' about in another thread: take the wins and losses in context.  It's unreasonable to get too high off a win or too low off a loss, but it's just the reality of hundreds being able to instantly share their opinion/analysis of every little thing, so everything feels magnified.

I wish they had came out better, and I'm not comfortable with the team yet, but I also don't think there is much shame in losing to Boston, either.  If you're going to lose, might as well be to the better teams than to the lesser teams I say!

Just got back with a few minutes left in the 2nd period and it seemed like a pretty balanced game...the score seems to indicate otherwise. Did they suck the 1st period?

Defense was shoddy in front of Goose, yeah. Bruins came out hard also. Franson is a 6' 4" pussy.

Yup, easy to deeply dislike Franson for his part in that 3rd goal. I agree.

I think what all this boils down to is that the team hasn't proven much of anything yet.  I think it's clear, though, that we can't keep winning in spite of abysmal special teams.  If those don't set to rights, we are done.

Yeah, they're just so much more comfortable playing 5 on 5.  It's very odd.  I would have expected the new assistants to have had some influence - I'm sure I read that one of them was working with the team on stuff he had seen in looking at video.

Gustavsson should have had that, but the defensemen were just slowly floating back watching Bergeron skate in.

Underhanded Bruins. I don't care the Leafs have a great team.
They caved due to being undermanned on defense they had their chances, but couldn't bury it.

The Leafs have a better record than the Bruins.
Go Leafs!!!
