Game 6 - Toronto Maple Leafs @ Boston Bruins L6-2

There are so many tests tonight:  How Kessel on fire responds to aggressive defense from Chara.  How a motivated Gustavsson responds to his first start.  How a fast Leafs team deals with a stronger, tougher, and ticked-off team.  How players step up or don't step up responding to injuries.  How the team fares on the road.  How the rookies fare if given a bigger role in the face of injuries or poor performance by others.

Looking forward to it.  Not entirely looking forward to the result... :-\

I don't think it is best to have Liles and Phaneuf split but together on the powerplay.  It would allow them to develop chemestry as a unit and considering before the winnepeg game we were 2-21.  I also think they are our two best defensmen at the moment so they should get the ice time together to show for it.

I can't help but feel that against a team that boasts Marchand and a couple of heavier weights like Lucic and Thornton who also agitate, Army's presence will be missed quite a bit here.

Good test for the Leafs tonight, we know Boston isn't as bad as their play has shown and this will be a tough game, the Leafs have to come out strong from the drop of the puck and not let up and try get Kessel out there as much as possible when Chara isn't!

Gustavsson is the biggest test of them all IMO.  I am hoping for a strong game from him.

Kessel already got the "can't score in Boston" monkey of his back last year, so even if he's held in check I wouldn't read too much into it.

HennyTweets Paul Hendrick Possible leaf lines in boston: lupul-bozak-kessel. Frattin-grabo-kulemin. Kadri-lombardi-steckel. Brown-dupuis-rosehill.

So what gives with Mac? Benched?

MacArthur was "banged up" last night.

So..... MacArthur and Armstrong are out and Kadri and Rosehill are in.

Anyone else wondering if Colton is still hurting? Wouldn't Colton go ahead of Rosehill normally?

I don't have a good feeling about this game.

I can see things come 'crashing' down a bit on us tonight.  5-1 or 5-2 B's.

Where can I look up PK and PP percentages?

nhl.com

Interesting to see that the PP is actually doing better than the PK so far. 17th for PP, 25th for PK.

It also shows how irrelevant some of those numbers are with so few games played, couple days ago those positions were essentially reversed with Leafs pk at 83.3%..

I hope Gustavsson can provide at least average goaltending, which is acceptable enough from a backup.

3-2 Leafs. Kessel with another one.
