"It's not the goaltenders' fault, it's the defense!!!"

I can't believe he let Gustavsson off the hook for the OT goal. LOL

He's big on shot blocking but he also says get out of the way if you're not going to block it. Bozak was out of the way and he got blamed for NOT blocking it. That WAS a bit strange.

If you can't blame a goalie for letting in a shot that was going wide, you can't ever blame a goalie for any goal ever again. Well done Don.

I only just noticed what Jonas was referring to there from his interview after the game and Don sort of reinforced, it did skip on edge kind of funny, not that he shouldn't have had it.

His greater point was still fair to me.

We are in agreement. *fist bump*

Alright, folks.  Only down two, considering we should be down more after that performance.  Just get the next one and we're back in it.  GO LEAFS GO!!

I must be slip'n. Cherry almost sounded like he knew what he was talking about there. I say you just ride Reimer and take your medicine.

I think he put it well, fwiw, messing with a goalies confidence is a certain kind of recipe.
Enough with the yo yo  goaltending and stay with one would be key

Caps have been brutal lately and should tire as the game goes on. If the Leafs can get a goal early in the 2nd they can turn this thing around.

Don wasn't exactly saying gustavsson shouldn't have had it so much as the shot shouldn't have existed in the first place. Bozak was right there and easily could have blocked it, but didn't.

:) I'm down like a clown charlie brown!

This is beautiful guys, were young, horrible and this display I hope will reinforce the seller mentality in Burke, goodnight Grabs.  We need to drop far enough to land a top 10 pick.  We need to send RW packing, I don't think I have ever hated anything so much as the man we call our coach.

That's pretty much it.  Hence his paeans to Witt et al. later on.

I think its time to blow this team up and fire the management.  This is simply unacceptable.  Florida, Winnipeg, and Ottawa were considerably behind us when we began this rebuild and in such a short amount of time not only caught up to the Leafs, but significantly surpassed them.  This franchise is a laugh stock and if Florida and Winnipeg make it above us it will consolidate one more disgrace.  Imagine the pundits and Leaf haters' expressions when the Leafs become the only team since the lockout to fail to make the playoffs?  Almost a decade of failure and we have one blue chip prospect and a ton of overrated and overpaid players.  Phaneuf is garbage.  Not even close to being a number one defense man.  Terrible skating ability.  Everybody else on our D-Corps besides Gardiner is barely average.  Our forwards aren't much better either.  As far as I am concerned Grabovski has to go.  Why do we need to re-sign this guy?  Where has he brought us?  And now he wants 5 million?  Riemer is not and will never be a number 1 or 2 goalie.  Gustvasson has been betrayed by the coaching staff.  Did he cost us the game against New Jersey?  Yes... but I highly doubt a mistake like that would have happened if he was proclaimed number 1 goalie in January, as he should have been, but yet again Wilson takes the pride route.  Any good work Burke has done has been ruined by Wilson.  Schenn has regressed, Kadri is treated like a yoyo, there is almost 10 million dollars worth of cap space eating popcorn in the press box on a consistent basis, and now the media and the management is trying to convince itself that Nash is somehow the answer, when the answer to rebuilding has always been through the draft.
