Game 66: Bruins @ Leafs 7:00PM SNET-0

Kinda par for the course that the only goal we all thought was questionable ended up as the GWG, and it was scored by Seguin.

Well, at least we weren't embarrassed tonight by the Bruins...
The score was closer but we got manhandled and they took out our #2 scorer

They're bigger than us, and in the case of two of their players, bigger than most of the guys in the league.  What do you expect?  I thought the Leafs were pretty physical and threw their body around more than they usually do, but a lot of our guys just aren't as big and physical as a lot of their guys.
A team tough enough to compete better? We're too soft and small to beat them at our best but I guess it's acceptable to some.

I missed it.  What happened to Lupul?

And, you know, bruins games are just no fun to watch.  Even if the the score looked kinda okay at the end, it is no fun heading in to the 3rd period having been outscored 5-1 at even strength in the first two periods.

pretty much sums it up.  whos tougher Kessel or Seguin?

*sigh*

I had a feeling. That's why I stepped away at 3-2.

Okay, so I actually went downstairs to have dinner. I don't have amazing premonition powers.

"@jonasTSN1050: Armstrong equipment remains in stall. Doesn't appear he'll make trip to Pittsburgh."

Seems like that beating took a toll. :(

We only have 2 call ups left and with lups hurt we might have to use them both up soon. I agree with BB, this 4 call up max rule is just stupid.

It shouldn't count against it, as this would be an emergency call up.

Ah Armstrong yet another punch line in this joke...tries to do something useful for the first time since his last injury and gets hurt again

It'd be nice if he did the Leafs a favour and retired.  Then Burke would only have about 6 bad contracts to worry about.

I thought we played them better though. Maybe Kadri is coming up? I heard he was packing his things already.

I hope Burke calls up Mueller just in spite of Cherry.

;D Good call.

It's not that it's okay, it's that it won't get fixed immediately. People might start feeling better when they realize that the Leafs are still an incomplete team right now. Burke is by far not done building this team and with a new coach that is more philosophically paralleled with Burke's ideology, you can almost guarantee that we will get bigger in the next season.

Who gets the call up for Lupul?  Kadri?

If they are both down ( Colby and Joffery), they should bring up both Kadri and Aston. Play Kads with Kessel and bring some size to the third line with Aston and give him a taste of the bigs.

in this game Burke should finally realize that his forwards are not big enough.  Boston completely dominated the boards and winning most battles.  As one other poster said it's like Boston IS the team Burke envisioned when he took over the Leafs

Watching the Bruins dominate us is depressing for several reasons.  Firstly, they are the prototypical team that Burke wanted to originally build when he got here.  Secondly, by giving them blue chip assets we've not only significantly assisted them in ending their championship drought, we have to contend them for division supremacy for years to come.  Burke should have been fired for even thinking about trading all those assets for a soft scorer like Kessel.

Thirdly, the Bruins have 8 players from Ontario on their team.

Your not wrong.

I love this place and all the volunteer staff here, but this is what is allowed now?

This is considered a legitimate view point and not a troll?

?? Looks pretty harmless to me.

And it is true that a team loaded up with Ontario players pushed our poop in for the 5th time in a row last night.  ;)

I thought we competed much, much better than the previous meetings, and the score seems to bear out the fact that it was a competitive game.  We're not too small and soft to beat them, we beat them a couple times last season with more or less the same 2 types of teams facing one another, we've just stunk up the joint against them this season. This game was a much closer contest.

Doesn't really matter if it is acceptable to me or not, I don't make any influential roster decisions.

And if you have any more concerns, I refer you to my sig.

This is what I don't get about this apologist line of thinking.  In one post it is "they're bigger than us what do you expect"...then when I say well that sucks it is "we're not too small and soft to beat them".  The response to criticism oscillates between excuses and denials but when all you want are some results, results that were all but promised, it is infuriating.  It seems the excuses and denials are endless but the results never come.

This is not about you Burke is blowing the same smoke, mr not a five year rebuild criticizing a lack of patience.  We had it, you spent it.
