?No. One hundred per cent the opposite of that piece of advice,? he said.
One of the stupiest quotes I have ever read.

This article infurates me.
And as for the penalty kill, according to NHL.com, going back to 1985-86 there?ve been 424 teams whose playoff runs lasted at least six games. Toronto?s 2019 penalty-kill percentage, an embarrassing 56 per cent, ranks 423rd out of 424. The Leafs? 2018 penalty kill ranks 421st. Their 2017 work ranks 407th. Those numbers are Babcock?s numbers.
THREE YEARS IN A ROW!!!! Jesus, adapt you idiot! If Hyman takes a defensive zone PK faceoff, Bab's should fired mid game. No one can dispute these facts, if Babcock can't make an adjustment after 3 playoffs to the PK he has to go.
I wonder what he means by that exactly and how much we should actually extrapolate from that singular quote. I don't think he won't make adjustments, but the adjustments he does make remain to be seen. He definitely should dial back Marleau and get Willy on a shift with Matthews at some point and basically have Goat and fourth line play as little as possible. Try to load up on your best guys without gassing them.
If he does the same old with Hyman losing every draw on the PK and Marleau getting 17 minutes then I'm going to pull out my hair.
If the PK can't get it done tonight the assistants have got to go. DJ Smith I believe is in charge of the PK.
So I'm not responsible for my own job, it's my Boss' responsibility.

The specific question that he responded to was "is it the time for Leafs to start taking risks and doing different things than what got them to a Game 7 situation". No coach in the world is going to say yes to that. And when he gave his response he did say it with a smile/laugh on his face. So I know this is a massive shock to anyone who knows the columnist who wrote that but I'd say he took it out of context a bit.

They were going to tear him apart on that quote regardless. If anything goes wrong tonight they'll say he didn't adjust and if he does adjust and it doesn't work out they're going to say he either didn't try that early enough or what he tried was too costly or reckless. It's no win unless he moves on, and if he moves on then he shuts everyone up.
Amongst the worst PK in a grouping of all teams over the past 33 years for 3 years in a row. He had his opportunity to address the problem and didn't, it's on him now.Bender said:cabber24 said:Yes, you are correct. Right. So the person who's responsibility it is to deliver a specific thing and is incompetent should be fired. I don't think my boss should be fired if I suck at my job. They should find a replacement and if the replacement sucks then you can point the finger at the boss.
I'm not saying he's doing a good job or defending him, I just don't think it makes sense to fire the coach as a first resort.
I'll be there at the start. If the Leafs don't show up though I'm gonna bail. If they get a 3 goal lead I'm gonna bail. Otherwise I'll probably be there till the end.Zanzibar Buck-Buck McFate said:Good God people. Yes!! Matthews and JT should play 24-25 minutes tonight. Put Willy with Matthews and JT for a few shifts and please put Marleau on the 4th line.Zee said:I would have dressed 7 dmen tonight since Gardiner hasn't looked himself and play a bit of Rosen. Take Goat out, no need for a 4th line center, mix in the 4th line wingers with some shifts with the other 3 centers.
