Game 70: TOR vs. FLA. Hard to believe...

I've just been told that the Toronto Maple Leafs have not scored a goal since 1988.  Is this true?

Thomas lets in 2 goals on 5 shots and Turco goes back in the net. Wonder what direction that GAA goes.

BOS needs to be a little worried.  Thomas looked pretty shaky against even us.

It'd be funny if he officially announced his retirement as soon as Julien tapped him.

No one can miss the net so many times. It's as if they are tanking on purpose.

That wouldn't be fair to the fans and sponsors. And the sponsors of fans who have been reduced to alcoholism.

So Carlyle teaches them how to kinda play defense and now they can't score.

I liked it better when we were losing 5-4.

I know what you mean, but it's harder to teach defense than it is to teach offense.

I get the feeling that when they stop focusing on the defense  (ie it's a bit more second nature) the offense will be the same as before.

At the same time we're getting closer and closer to a great pick  ;D

I think I'd be highly entertained if the Leafs just didn't score a goal the rest of the season. I wonder how Burke would spin that?

I don't recall Reimer being so hard on himself last year. Nor do I remember him being so lost in the crease -- it's as if he's swimming in there. And he is extremely hunched over.

I feel bad for the kid. The offseason can't come soon enough for him.

I guess a comment about the penalty kill is unwarranted, then, because they killed it off by one second.

Nice tip, but that play was telegraphed a mile away.
