A little delayed, but that was a nice goal by Gardiner/Kadri.

Yup. I've liked the fact that the Leafs have been patient with Kadri up to this point, but I really think we need to make room for him in the top-6 next season.

Agreed.  Either that or trade him.  He can't be a third-liner.

I dunno, I think he could on a third line built to provide scoring depth too. I'd rather see him in a top six but the way the league is going he might be valuable on a third scoring/hybrid line.

Point taken.  I just don't know if BB is committed to that kind of line, though, what with his top 6/bottom 6 thing.

Multiple people in the organization, including even Burke I'm pretty sure, have spoken about how the top-6/bottom-6 method might not work right now. However they do it, there needs to be room for Kadri to make this team next season, and he should have the freedom to know he won't be sent down just because of a bad stretch of games. I'm not saying we need to hand him a spot, but it was pretty much impossible for him to secure a spot this season because of all the bodies that couldn't be sent down.

Are you serious Lombardi??? That's friggin twice...
If the Leafs could sign Zach Parise I think they would be tempted to let Lombardi go....

I dunno, of the four players with price performance issues he's the one I'd hang on to if I had to, he looks like he's in game shape now and flying again. Tough year for him coming off that concussion.

I actually agree with you Tigger.  I think next year he could be the Leafs Lupul. He is insanely fast and has a decent hockey IQ.  He just needs to get his hands better.

I like him more than Connoly and MUCH more than Armstrong.

Yeah, and that's to your point too, they need to make room, for him and in General. ;)

I guess the decision has been made on Gus, he won't be here next year.

?

They keep playing Reimer, as though they've decided to go with the guy with a contract.

Carlyle did the same with Jonas before and his comments alluded to him being the better goalie at the time. I mean you could be right but they've both had an opportunity with consecutive games. Reimer certainly played well tonight but I'm not sure that should indicate a bad season by him has been washed away.

Personally, I know Burke will have to make a choice because of his situation, but I don't like the idea of giving up on either goalie.
