Game 75: Maple Leafs @ Devils, 7:00pm, Free Falling...

Wow, don't see that very often, 3 shootout goals topped off by that move by Kadri. Wonder if Carlyle will embrace this thing that is Nazem?

Reimer's barely moved on either of those goals.

Kadri made me smile.  Bozak and Tim too.  Not this though.

What the hell is with Reimer?  His glove hand is just abysmal.  Why Elias didn't go that way is a mystery.

Honestly, I don't know whether I want Reimer back, signed or not.

Reimer just looks so lost.  The last save, he didn't know where the puck was.  Keep seeing that from him over and over.

Yeah, I just don't know.  That g/d concussion he took from Gionta....  He was undefeated (albeit not playing all that great IIRC) up until then.  In some ways I hate to give up on him until he's had the summer off to regroup.  Although if BB really was offered a 1st for him at the deadline I would have traded him.

After Kadri's beautiful shootout goal I did a fist pump and let out a "YES!".  Then a few seconds later I was like; "Oh crap, wait...".  :P

Are you serious Lombardi??? That's friggin twice...
If the Leafs could sign Zach Parise I think they would be tempted to let Lombardi go....

I dunno, of the four players with price performance issues he's the one I'd hang on to if I had to, he looks like he's in game shape now and flying again. Tough year for him coming off that concussion.

I actually agree with you Tigger.  I think next year he could be the Leafs Lupul. He is insanely fast and has a decent hockey IQ.  He just needs to get his hands better.

I like him more than Connoly and MUCH more than Armstrong.

Yeah, Army is pretty effective when healthy but seems broken now and Connolly is more expensive. I don't know how the Leafs are going to solve any of that along with the mighty Komisarek.

Well at least they blew the 2 goal lead.. please don't use this win as motivation to go on a meaningless win streak. I'm used to losing now, it doesn't bother me at all.. just lose the rest of the games and pick 1st overall.

He's got a .915 SV% in his last 5 games.  I would take that.

Glad the Leafs won.  Happy to see Kadri with the shootout.  Positive game, yes, on Reimer's part too.

Hopefully tonight against the Rangers, they'll be able to break their home losing streak.  That, too, would be a positive.

The problem I see is how low he is crouching.  Last year I saw Reimer as a positional goalie that made him self as big as possible, anticipated the play well and let the puck hit him.  He didn't need quick reflexes because of his style...this year...ouch!

OTOH, Rinne was lit up as a 6'5" goalie 2 nights ago playing that same "how low can I go" style against Pittsburgh.

Carlyle gave full credit to Eakins last night who told him he should put Kadri in if a shoot-out opportunity came up. Damn you Eakins!

To me, Reimer doesn't look like an NHL goalie.  His mechanics seem completely out of wack, he loses sight of puck constantly, and his glove hand isn't there.  Given the choice, I'd trade him or cut him.

This is why we can't have nice things.
