The Lifeless Leafs visit the surprising Buffalo, who are tied with the Capitals for the 8th and final playoff spot.

The Leafs need a loss tonight to not gain any ground over Montreal for the #3 overall pick as the Leafs hold the 5th overall and still only 4 points away from the 2nd overall pick.

Go Miller Go.

How about some modest goals like :
5 shots for every 10 minutes.
still in the game after 1 period.

I'll settle for that right now.

Lets hope for some collosal mistakes by Leafs D, because Scrivens may actually steal a game. (I still cant believe I am saying this).

Ignoring the lottery, my feeling is that if the leafs want to get the 2nd overall pick then they probably need to avoid picking up more than 1 point for the rest of the season (and of course Edmonton would need 6 out of 8 points -- they have been pretty hot recently; not impossible).  To get the 3rd overall pick, they need to avoid getting more than 2, and losing to Montreal at the end would be most helpful.

It is a tight race.  Finishing as low as possible is just as difficult (in an odd kind of way) as finishing as high as possible.

Looks like Scrivens and Rynnas tonight. The Marlies goalies up!

What's up with Reimer?

Other than him not being very good this year

He's probably done for the season with an 'upper body injury'.

It's been speculated by some that it is a recurrence of the concussion type injury he had earlier in the season and that perhaps he never fully recovered in the first place, it would certainly help to explain his play since.

I hope the guy can get healthy.

During the anthem Phil was yawning. Sorry Kessel, are we keeping you awake? Don't fret, the game will be over soon and you can get back to your xbox then.

That just proves millionaires get bored too

As a hockey fan from across the Atlantic, I have to say, I don't really get the whole singing the anthem before EVERY single game.

Over here we would only have anthems during international fixtures, and to me that kind of makes a bit more sense.

(Being from a country with a history of dispute over the sovereignty also means having no anthems played makes more sense, but that's a different story).

In other words, I don't think yawning during an anthem is a crime.
