Joffrey Lupul

I just hope we sort out who really is the face of the franchise so we can...uh...so that they can get...so that the franchise has a face?

This is more important than picking a new pope. Maybe we can borrow that vatican place for a few weeks to work this out.

Wendel Clark is a Saint...how dare you speak disparagingly of him.

Didn't you see his wicked Harlem Shake video?  Flawless.

You should probably be banned for a few days or something.

You are tough, but fair.

I will let myself out.

There are about a dozen good jokes here that I just can't type.

Does the ACC have a chimney?

Burke already established that the ACC is the Vatican.  The further implication being that the GM is the Pope.  And we know that the Pope, by fiat, is inflatable.

They had one installed for Pat Quinn's cigars.

Maybe that's why Kipper is willing to come here.

First update:

@mirtle

Carlyle says Lupul "feels fine now." Will know more tomorrow how serious it is but says he's 50-50 to practice Friday.

I take that with many grains of salt.  The first reactions from coaches are often strategically optimistic.

I just realized a lot of my confidence in this team rides on Lupul's shoulders.

I don't even care about the score in that game.

The red-hot Lupul, who assisted on the first Toronto goal and has 14 points since returning from a 25-game absence because of a broken forearm, appeared to take a blow to the head in the first period after being sandwiched by Rosehill and Adam Hall, who also made his debut for Philadelphia.

The Maple Leafs sniper got back to his feet as play continued but was wobbly and had to be helped onto the bench. He left for the locker-room shortly afterwards and did not return because of an upper-body injury.

"You always take those situations with caution and he feels fine now, but that's what happens in the context of the game," said Maple Leafs coach Randy Carlyle, whose team saw its three-game winning streak and eight-game point streak snapped. "We'll have a much better read (on Friday). If we're to say that he's probably going to practise (Friday) I would say that he's 50-50 on practising."

I think this morning will be tell the real story. If he wakes up foggy, it could be a while.

I wouldn't put the success or failure of this team on Lupul. They were playing pretty well without him earlier on in the season. I'm sure they can do it again. Mind you, it will be a big boost (again) when he eventually returns. Perhaps the timing of his return will coincide with a bit of a playoff run, when the team needs that extra jolt to put them over the top?

Now THAT'S how you blow right past half-full and see the glass as 300% full.

Hey. I'm always positive in the morning. It usually starts to fade as the day goes along.

Edit: Plus, I think the nutman's rubbing off on me a bit.

Have you tried placing yourself in geosynchronous orbit so that it's always morning?  :D :D
