Kings @ Leafs - Dec. 14th, 5:00pm - SNO, TSN 1050

The Kadri line has been effective at controlling the puck virtually every shift for a number of games. It's a refreshing change, particularly compared with the Bozak line, who still can't control the puck to save their life. It's pretty easy to see why one line produces and defends well 5 on 5 while the other is largely ineffective.

Clarkson on the 2nd line:
Kadri    9GP 2G 0A -3

Clarkson on the 3rd line:
Kadri    21GP 6G 11A 17P +12

Despite all the talk, I really don't think a lot of people recognize how stupendously awful Clarkson actually is.

Players who can't pass drive me nuts.  Their goalscoring is going to be unsustainable because they are completely reliant on the other 4 players on the ice to provide production.  Clarkson's only positive attributes are effort along the boards and a decent (not even above average) ability to deflect pucks in front of the net.
He's a slow version of Jason Blake.  Once Blake got over his cancer, no-one defended his play.  It drives me nuts that now in Year 2 that Clarkson isn't getting ripped apart by the media.  He's better than last year but he continues to be a guy who skates poorly, can't pass/handle the puck and loses an awful lot of puck battles for someone who supposedly has his physicality as an attribute.

He was... I'm going to go with "acceptable" while he had the cage/shield on. In part he stood out a bit because the rest of the team was crap at the time, but broken-face-Clarkson wouldn't be out of place on the 3rd line. Sadly he's back to normal.

Muzzin wanted to play for the Leafs and they said no....damn.

Also can we just extend Santorelli and Winnik before they absolutely price themselves out of the budget.  (Hooray for Clarkson's cement boots)

I think they can't offer extensions until Jan 1. But for sure, those guys are just going to get more expensive. Gotta be signed.

Bozak needs to shoot the puck.  He had a glorious chance and instead passes behind JVR.

I would have loved that but I'm biased. Watched him have a monster season for the Hounds. Was a slow developer I think because of a back injury. He's turned out better than I thought he would though.

Can't imagine last season's 4th line having a shift with such impact...

Have to say, to me Kadri is almost pushing for player of the season honours the way he's going at the minute. Never expected him to end up being so defensively responsible.
