Game Notes
LA
•Darcy Kuemper (1-0-2, 3.59 GAA, .889 Sv%) will likely start for the Kings
•Kuemper was nearly perfect through his first 2 games in a Kings uniform, going 1-0-1 with a 1.47 GAA and .949 Sv%. That all came crumbling down when he allowed 8 goals in a wild 7-8 overtime loss to the sens on Monday afternoon. We'll see if LA goes back with him or gives 32-year old back-up David Rittich his first start this season
•One of LA's most notable offseason moves this year wasn't a transaction, but the announcement that Quinton Byfield will move permanently to the centre position after spending most of his first 3 seasons in the NHL on the wing. So far he has just 2 assists in 3 games but the Kings expect big things from him this season
TOR
•Anthony Stolarz (1-1-0, 1.54 GAA, .940 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs

•Tavares returned to the ice for practice on Tuesday but Nylander unfortunately took his place in the sick bay as it was announced he sat out due to an illness. His status for Wednesday's game is obviously up in the air as it will depend how he's feeling tomorrow
•Worth noting that at practice on Tuesday Ekman-Larsson kept his position on PP1 over Rielly, a move that was originally made midway through Saturday's game. The Leafs have so far gone 0-for-9 on the powerplay this season

Posting this a little earlier than usual since I had to redo the template for GDTs on the new board. Was able to get all the formatting done pretty easily once I got the hang of things.

Will have to play around with things since the blue fonts on the Leafs side don't show too well in dark mode (the obviously superior mode). edit: changed the blue to something that pops a little more so should look fine in both dark and light mode now.

This new site seams to have a black background so cannot make out any of the blue typing in your game day post. Any advice

Looks great CTB, thanks as always. Though we part company on Dark Mode. I get enough of that in our election over here....

I like the dark background, can't see the dark blue font.

Go Leafs!
Click your name at the top menu, and select Preferences

You'll see a dropdown menu for Style variation.
System is the default and it follows what the admins have determined is their preference. Light and Dark are available for users to override the default.

Can you or anyone not see the blue font on dark mode right now? It should be pretty easily readable right now, unless dark mode looks different on different systems.
I can see it fine, but it might not be enough contrast for some.
Twitter's blue is pretty good for both dark and light modes (rgb(65,157,237) or #419DED) but it's not really TML official (rgb(21,62,119) or #153E77) which is a no go for dark mode.

The blue for the Leafs side of the GDT is essentially that twitter blue, at least on all my devices. It was originally TML official but that was too dark and was changed.

Twitter blue: rgb(65, 157, 237)
Current GDT blue: rgb(44, 130, 201)

Apparently, they both fail in https://contrastchecker.com. I think we'd be very hard pressed to find a single blue colour that could pass everything for both the light and dark mode backgrounds.

I don't know the backend of this software or the level of access a post has to trigger CSS functions... but if at all possible, maybe create a custom CSS font color style named "Leafs" that dynamically detects the style variation mode and returns a usable color value respectively, and CtB could just code [ COLOR = "Leafs" ] text [ / COLOR ] to invoke it. The code already exists for the forum's default font color decisions (black in Light, light gray in Dark). And if that works, then one could code style tags for every team to make GDTs a bit easier to colour going forward.

dropping 8 lbs in a couple of days is scary; apparently without gastro symptoms?

"It's been a battle for a few days," Tavares said. "Unfortunately that's the way it goes sometimes. Still kind of coming around and just getting my energy back."

Tavares revealed he lost a little bit of weight in the last few days. It showed.

"He was low energy to me," said Berube after practice. "It's hard, but he's a good pro and got out today and got a sweat. I'm sure he'll feel better later."

Tavares described the illness as "flu-like" and added that there were no stomach-related issues.

"I was able to still eat and hydrate a decent amount," he said. "But I had a few nights that were pretty difficult."

We have same sort of bug going through the house and it's not very much fun.
