A little surprised Lagesson didn't get the nod here, maybe even as a 7D. His PK numbers were the best on the Leafs while he was in the lineup, and lord knows they could use some help there right now.

I wonder with Seattle having a weak PP before the injuries whether they're gearing up to cut the offense loose. If they can get Seattle into that end-to-end game, Seattle probably won't be able to keep up. Might get the Leafs out of these terrible starts where they seem tight.

After what was probably his worst game (he is now playing more games than his usual NCAA 40 game season), Knies is back with Matthews-Marner.

Also a bit weird that Keefe could?ve swapped Giordano?s schedule so he could watch the faster Canucks and play against his former team. Instead he got to watch the Canucks skate around him, and now watch his former team.

I feel like there's a half decent chance Giordano sometimes forgets he played for Seattle.

Holmberg's last 8 games
2G 5A 7Pts +6

gets him bumped to the 4th line ...

In spite of Keefe's accolades last year, I did not appreciate Holmberg as much until this last stretch of games. He seems to have become a better player. It is not the offense that got me. His reads/anticipation, winning puck battles, always seeming to be on the right side of the puck, etc.

Players can have exceptional strings of games. We've seen it in preseason many times. I didn't see him taper off.

Holmgren and Benoit are important developments if they can stick for the cap going forward.

I'm sure he'll be fine on the 4th line. I wasn't expecting it.

Of course I took Holmberg to score and after playing well he's back on the 4th line. Typical.
