Kraken vs. Maple Leafs - Jan. 21st, 9:00pm - SN, Fan 590

The Leafs keep blowing the zone before the defense have a clear lane to get the outlet pass going.  Sloppy play and a bad strategy when our defense isn't amazing at moving the puck

Robertson should?ve just shot it

I was cursing perfect spot and a great shot and you pass it back.Ridiculous.
He did it with Matthews earlier in the year and scored.

There?s only two players I?d want Robertson deferring shots to, and Matthews is one of them.

On a 3-on-1 (where the 1 is behind you), it?s much higher value to shoot. As long as it?s not right in the glove, they had two guys on rebound management.

It was a dumb decision.

Sketchy connection for me tonight but looks like they've kept Sammy well out of the spotlight and like Benoit banging around.

I was just going to post how well they have played and shutdown the Kraken but only 1 shot from being right in the game and there it is. Team never seems to make things easy.

Good Sammy saves
Leafs missing opportunities and allowing opportunities.
Not surprising. The Leafs should be able to prevail but there are no guarantees ...

Knies still looks outmatched on the top line for me.  He doesn't know when to shoot and when to pass.  There is a lot to like about him but he needs to play down the lineup

Ya should have fired it on net there in the last minute. Most of them are over passing throw it on net and see what happens. We've squandered some good chances and only up 1 against a team missing some key parts. I hope they hold on if not something needs to give.

He still seems to have a bunch he needs to learn

If that line wants to score in the playoffs, that winger also has to learn to go to the net - and park his butt there - to cause screens and bang in the rebounds (see Roberts & Andreychuk). Marner is too small and more of a distributor of the puck. Matthews is sniping from wherever. Knies has the physical tools to do so.

Part of the reason I'd like a coaching change, I don't think the team has played close to the sum of it's parts yet. I think a new coach could get more out of this lineup.

Corey Perry to the Oilers. Thank God he's not coming to TO.

Yep, Leafs don?t need a guy that shows up in the playoffs..

He's a douche and we aren't guaranteed to get there. We have bigger issues than to add a slow old 4th liner.

That was a pretty generous linechange by Seattle there to get a rush after being hemmed in their own zone
