Leafs 2012/2013 Schedule in 10 game chunks

And why does Boston never play?  Leafs already had two games in hand on them and then the Leafs play 3 in 4 nights and 4 this week while the Bruins don't play til Thursday and then not til Sunday again.  Play some damn games Boston.

Well, Boston did have that one game vs Tampa that was cancelled because of the weather...but even if that happened, they'd still have 3 games in hand.

So I agree...play some games Boston!  Especially closer to the playoffs, so you can be tired going in. :P

Me likey all the green.

Ottawa and Philadelphia are a combined 10-2-3 on home ice. Those some tough barns for visiting teams to win in right now.

I'm assuming Ottawa has all 10 of those wins  ;D

I think it's fair to assume this team will come down to earth on the road record.  Teams are usually doing pretty well if they are at .500 on the road.

Hopefully not toooo far back down to earth.

well then when the dog days of March come it will be the Bruins turn to play back to back.. 3 games in 4 nights stuff

Over a 19-day span (Mar. 7-25), the Leafs face Boston three times and Pittsburgh twice.  That stretch just may be it to show whether the Leafs are a legitimate playoff team or it leads to another of those nasty tailspins the team can't recover from.  We'd like to think this team is different under Carlyle to avoid the latter and show the former, but it's tough not to be skeptical based on recent years.

From now until then, the Leafs have 7 games (BUF, OTTx2, PHI, MON, NYI, NJ), in which I would say at least 4 wins, if not 5, isn't an unrealistic expectation.  Hopefully they can make some hay and stash away those points as to give them a buffer heading into that tougher stretch.

I'm hoping by then our injured players are all back.

4 wins I would say. I wouldn't bet on Buf, but maybe Ott, Phi, Mon, NYI are winnable. I wouldn't expect more to be completely honest.

First post-Ruff game, let's see how the Sabres respond.  Might not be easy anymore.

lets hope the new coach hasnt got things together yet.

It's more a pride thing with the players. They play hard to show they're willing to work hard now. Doesn't always work or last but sometimes you see that coach-firing bounce in a team.

Man, 6-2 so far this 10.  Surpassed my expectations and improved upon the first 10 games.  7 wins is reachable now and outside shot at going 8-2.

7 road gms in that 10 too, normally with most teams and especially the Leafs the fact that we are assured of at least a 6-4 record at worst and 8-2 at best is really quite remarkable.

I know.  I'm trying to keep my emotions in check but this team is really growing on me.  About to start drinking the kool aid that Berger likes to talk about.  Reminds me of the long ago days when Pat Burns first came into town in 92.  The defensive system that has suddenly returned to the Leafs game reminds me of when the Leafs made the change from Doug Carpenter/Tom Watt to Burns.

the thing i really like about this stretch is the goals against.  i remember when it felt impossible to play a game without giving up at least three goals.
