Kostka's first goal and Bolland nothing. Only Leafs let their former players light them up I guess

didn't JVR have like two goals against philly in this first game against them as a leaf?  anyway..i'd have to look that up..but leafs definitely do score against their old clubs...i think it's just easier to remember it the other way around.

Yea, and one of them was when he broke by Luke Schenn quite easily and scored.

I feel the Leafs matched up pretty well considering we don't have all our players playing.

This is a game where Clarkson could have stepped in and set a tone of his own. It just may have been the spark they needed to match up better with Chicago.

In the grand scheme of things the Leafs have played poorly so far and are 6-3 thanks to mostly great goaltending. If the team can turn it around and play like they did in the playoffs minus the final 11 minutes we'll be OK.

Also today is my birthday. Thanks for the non present last night Leafs.

Happy birthday!

The Leafs schedule has been more kind to me of late: last year they beat the Islanders on my birthday, and this year they play the Stars.  The Stars aren't quite the Sabres, but they sure ain't Chicago. I'll take it.

Bolland to stick it to his old team?  Let's hope.

We always see Ex-Leafs come back and stick it to us, so hopefully Bolland has a good solid game and is a factor in us winning!

He doesn't seem that angry at his ex team.  The leafs that have been trying to stick it to us have some deep hate at the leafs.  Hate worthy of incoherent rants to reporters.

In past years, not recently, we have seen some players come back who haven't had hate for the Leafs and ranted to reporters, stick it to us.

Such as?  MacArthur cried and was trying his best with Ottawa.  If only he played like that every night for the leafs he would not have been scratched.  Kotska played well against us, although I haven't heard anything in the media that he was bitter, his face after he scored says it all.

I agree, and I'm looking forward to seeing him this Friday.

I feel like that's maybe, maybe, expecting too much from Clarkson.

Wait, what!? I expect a hat trick and serious intimidation from him on Friday.

I hear he'll get a Gordie Howe hat trick and four people in the crowd pregnant.
