Frankly, I wish both Nonis and Carlyle would get canned.  Get rid of any last traces of the Burke management team.

I want to see the roster with a different coach for a while before I can Nonis, but, he's definitely next on my list.

Yeah, I agree.  I look as the assets the Leafs have for their roster since Nonis had his hand in most of them and like most of them.  I am mostly surprised who Carlyle uses them.

On our defense, does Carlyle really believe Liles is AT BEST only 8th??

Out of all the moves Nonis made this off-season it isn't the Clarkson one that baffles me as Nonis wanted him and paid the market value and the market length expected.  The move that baffled me was committing 5 years to Bozak 6 days AFTER trading for Bolland.

I think I will save the rest of my roster ideas for the fantasy GM Armchair thread where it is not as horrible being a Leaf fan as it is out here in the reality.

Rask or Steen? Which trade was worse. Discuss.

all the trades are bad.  Even the Kessel deal which landed us the most talented player since Sundin... is bad.

It's not looking like the Leafs will have a playoff spot for much longer.

As many as 5 teams chasing them have closed the gap to within a few points, and the main reason they're still ahead is because of that 6-1 start to the season.

They're going to have beat a clearly superior team in Chicago or Pittsburgh or there's a good chance they'll lose their playoff spot.

Couldn't watch the game tonight (I guess that wasn't a bad thing). Noticed Clarkson had a hit to the head penalty. Please tell me it was "suspension for the rest of the season" bad.

We're pretty lucky none of the teams below us are really lighting the league on fire either. Only one of them has more than 4 wins in the past 10 games.

Unfortunately, it was a run of the mill stupid elbow to the head with only mild force. I'll be pretty surprised if there's even a hearing.

This team can't catch a break.

Yeah eh, the competition from the Metro division seems really sub-par. Might be the reason they're still in the running.

Without high-end goaltending, a 6-1 start, and a sub-par year for a lot of the Leafs' competition, this could easily have been reminiscent of their 09/10 season.

I do predict a turnaround for the Leafs though; in January or February they'll kick it into high gear so to speak.

I had been trying to avoid the result but the app on my phone sent me it. I was going to watch the full game this morning on Gamecenter, but kind of glad i saw it so don't have to put myself through it now!

What a horrible game. The team was skating like it was peanut butter. Clarkson needs to go to the AHL, he sucks!. Maybe some one can take him on waivers LOL. The only good thing about the game was the penalty killing, and it is now over.
