Leafs lines at practice, per Siegel:

van Riemsdyk-Bozak-Kessel
Winnik-Kadri-Lupul
Komarov-Holland-Santorelli
Booth-Smith-Clarkson

So looks like a surprise return for Komarov here. Also, Clarkson on the 4th line!

Don't worry though.  He'll still be on the PP.

Looked it up on stats.hockeyanalysis.com: From 2007-2014 (doesn't include this season), of forwards who have had at least 500 5v4 minutes, Clarkson ranks 224th out of 234 in P/60. Link

If you bump the # up to 750 minutes (Clarkson played ~847 minutes) over that same period he's 170th out of 173 (and hey there's Bozak at 161! Hey Ty!).  Link

Nice to see that, despite the success JvR and Kadri had together, the default 1st line is back together.

I can't scratch my head anymore with this team without hitting brain.  Why does Randy just keep going back to the same old same old?  >:(

That's a bit surprising Bozak is so low.

I can not understand how Holland or Santorelli aren't on the PP over Clarkson.

I will certainly acknowledge that watching the game on TV (and the odd game in the stands) isn't the same as being a coach.  I also know that teams are going to have additional stats and analysis that we don't have on the internet.  But I don't understand how Clarkson can look bad on the ice AND look bad on the stats sheet and noone in the organization can pipe up and do something about it?

Maybe management is trying to pump up his point totals in the off-chance someone bites at the trade deadline or in the summer.

I thought so too, but even Kessel isn't that high (60th or so) and Bozak's raw point totals have never been particularly high.  Kessel's never been primarily a PP producer either so his PP totals haven't really been off the charts, so Bozak's wouldn't really be either.  Still, he shouldn't really be that low.

Should've happened sooner which is all the more sadder.  Not even 2 years into his deal.

Suddenly I'm more comfortable with Carlyle playing the 4th line 2 to 4 minutes a game again.

The leafs have about 30 seconds of offensive zone time already.  An improvement on the Tampa game.

Komarov scores.  Clarkson is unbelievably useless.

Like he doesn't even really go to the front of the net to screen the goalie either. Always off to the side hoping a rebound just bounces to him.
