Nylander grabbed some extra time and space by selling shot on Lindgren.

Nylander with a good effort breaking through two checks to get Marleau another chance to give Lindgren some saves.

I?m not really seeing how playing Nylander with a guy who is equally snakebit and a guy who is our 10th best forward is a good approach.

I think it?s just to try getting more scoring skill into the bottom 3. Matthews is back up to speed and can carry Johnsson/Kapanen. We need to take advantage of the weaker depth. Would be hilarious if all three regress to their regular shooting percentage at once.

So after 2, Nylander is 80%+ in 5v5 CF%, FF%, SCF%, HDCF% which might have something to do with being match against 3rd/4th lines and 3rd pair.

Hopefully Gards feels good again after this game. He's looking like his old self, hasn't missed a beat. Would be huge for the playoffs with him in there along side Dermott

I am glad he scored. But man oh man, we paid him 6+ million for 7 darn goals.
Most figured this, season would be a downer. What he does in the playoffs is all that matters with Willy's year. Next year we expect a lot more.

His pts pace after the back half is about in line with his career rate so far, while running at half his normal shooting percentage and usually dragging guys who can?t score right now, other than a short stretch with Matthews. Also working practically solo on PP2. So I think he?s technically already better.

Like Nylander has already fed Marleau with 2-3 grade A opportunities to ight where Matthews or Johnsson or Tavares probably buries.

Like GT said: it's all about the playoffs.
