The defense hasn't been good in the last two months but the goaltending has been a real problem.
I was hoping that Mrazek would help alleviate the pressure on Campbell, but I think that with Campbell's hot start and Mrazek's injuries, that has not occurred. I think you're seeing Jack Campbell come back down to earth and Mrazek struggle to find his game due to a lack of consistent playing time.
Jack Campbell's style, and you can refer back to my posts about him during last year's playoffs, does not lend to consistent, top level play. Not in my eyes anyways. He certainly did prove me wrong for the first few months of the season. And I hope, for the Leafs' sake, that he's just in a lull. If not, they're hooped.
I don't necessarily agree with this.
At the start of the season, when the team was having extreme swings in performance, they were winning a lot of nights because of the goaltending.
Lately, when they win, it seems to be despite the goaltending.
