Sure it's not Willy leading in hits. Just kidding folks not trying to rile anyone up.

Both Muzz and Holl are fine as long as they only play the PK together...no 5v5 togetherBritishbulldog said:Zanzibar Buck-Buck McFate said:Suddenly Holl looks like a guy you want to keep.
;D
Crazy that a player might return to form if we are patient.

Spezza, 26 minutes, 0 goals, 1 shot
Bunting, 24 minutes, 0 goals, 2 shots
Mikheyev, 23 minutes, 0 goals, 1 shot
Simmonds, 9 minutes, 0 goals, 0 shots
I'd love to hear the explanation for why Nick Robertson couldn't find his way on this unit.

To be fair these guys don't get a lot of time to work, maybe 30 seconds of a PP but I said it earlier. Why leave this kid and his shot on the bench? Why even bother have him in the lineup if you're not going to play him? Keefe is an excellent coach but I'm baffled as to why Nick played a whopping 5:28 tonight. Send him back down if you're not going to use him.CarltonTheBear said:Powerplay stats for the forwards on PP2 since January 8th (21 games):

That shift looked like the earlier version of that line. Nice to see and hope they can get back to playing that way again.herman said:Joe S. said:azzurri63 said:Guilt Trip said:Matthews leads in hits and Mikheyev leads in shots...go figure.

In the sequence leading up to the game winner, Nylander tracked back into the DZ and laid a bit of a hit to break up the rush coming in. Nothing major, just gained good position and stood up his man to knock him off stride and free up the puck for Rielly.
He and JT then played some OZ offense and defense by pressuring every puck, drawing in defenders to spring open teammates.

Joe S. said:All this being said I?m convinced now the need is a goalie and not a defender. Mrazek is fine as a backup and I?m not sure what to make of Campbell anymore. But keep running Mrazek out there. We need to see what we have in him.
I don't think the Leafs are going after a goalie. There's still time to turn this around and the bidding with teams to acquire a decent one will be crazy. Agree, Mrazek should start the next game. Made some key saves last night.Joe S. said:CarltonTheBear said:This terrible team that's incapable of ever winning anything is now... *checks notes*... 1 point behind Florida for top spot in the Atlantic.
And all of a sudden the lightening have 2 games in hand on the leafs? This schedule is nuts.
