I still think about that Lawless interview every time Matthews puts up any points. What a twit 25 games into the season Laine was the next great one.

Yeah I was very somewhat open to Martin but said he needed to play 10-ish minutes and be an effective penalty killer to justify his deal. But he's basically getting Colton Orr minutes now. 5-8 minutes a night since late November.

Pretty sure they'll be rolling him out after this power play finishes up (or when Ovi steps back out).

Oh good. A two goal lead heading into the 3rd. Might as well just flip over to the hoops with this one in the bag.

The way Matthews can quickly pivot that 6'3" 220lb frame from skating forwards to skating backwards and not fall down whilst making a play is awesome. Saw it on his 3-on-1 goal in the Centennial Classic as well. Just another tool in his arsenal.

What impressed me before that goal was Nylander had given up the puck while in the Caps zone. The puck went back to the Leafs end and a Capital player had the puck up against the boards. 2 or 3 Leafs fishing at it trying to dig it out. Matthews came in and don't think I ever have seen this. He flipped his stick so the tip of the blade was facing the ice and came in and like filleting a fish in one motion got the puck out and started the play up ice. 15 seconds later the sweet dish.

WTF was Reilly thinking. I know Bozak tried to chip it back behind the net but dumb decision leaving Kuznetsov wide open.
