Gorgeous rush by Liljegren
Kid is alright...another solid game

In my mind, he is moving ahead of Sandin on defence depth chart.  Maybe not as offensively gifted, but isn't outmuscled and pushed off puck as much as Sandin. Come playoff time I think he will be the better option for what this team needs in a bottom pairing role.

They compliment each other's game well. I don't think either would look as good without a partner with their respective skill sets.

Liljegren was jumping up on the rush a lot more last night.  It's really good to see.  I know he morphed his game to be more defensive friendly after a junior hockey reputation of being an offensive defenseman but I hope we see more and more of his offensive instincts coming through as he gets more comfortable.

In his draft year he either got sick or injured and the Leafs picked Liljegren around 16 or 17.  He had been projected previously to go around #4.  The Leafs are finally developing their prospects correctly, giving them years in the AHL to hone their craft, develop into mens bodies and gain the confidence to make the jump to the NHL.  The used to ruin so many of their picks by rushing them to the bigs

Right you are HL I think he had mono or something.  Talk then was either he was overrated or else Leafs got a steal.
