I wonder if he's getting a little fatigued. He's never started games at the rate he's been going this season.

Don't undestand how you can give up so many easy chances time and time again. Find some defense man with a little grit cuz all of these guys other than Polak have absolutely zero toughness. Outmuscled outpositioned all the time. 50+ games into the season and same s**t happening. We have blown so many points it's ridiculous.

They aren't fixing this stuff this year. What you've got is a bunch of D who play similar games and who can get exposed in their own end.
slapshot said:Big issue with the Leafs is they are not covering the points well except when penalty killing. And when you lose as many draws as they do that is going to kill you Isles got way too many shots through from back there.

If you're not going to change the personnel you telling me you can't change something in your system to limit the number of chances you give up. How difficult is it to defend? Andersen's play has nothing to do with fatigue. He looked sloppy tonight, got lucky a few times and the last few games hasn't been solid but the chances he gives up Price or Holtby would be no different. They have to find a way to tighten up. Babcock and the rest of the coaches should of had this improved by now. As fun as they are to watch this crap blowing leads reminds of the Wilson and Carlyle teams.

This is just a blip on the screen here. The timing of this slump is actually good. Get the slump over with now, and hopefully they can find a way to tighten their game back up like the way they were playing before all the layoffs they've had in the past 6 weeks. I'm guessing Babcock has them playing better defence and back on a winning streak and in a playoff spot before the trade deadline.
He forgot to add "can't wait to play with him here in Toronto in two years. Oops please don't print that"hockeyfan1 said:The Islanders John Tavares had this to say about the Leafs Auston Matthews:
Pretty impressive guy," Tavares said. "Just the way he's been able to handle what comes with playing in Toronto and being a first pick and a lot of people looking to him to be a big part of that franchise for a long time. Really impressive how he handles himself...?
