Leafs @ Oilers - Mar. 1st, 10:00pm - SNO, Fan 590

Wish the Barber had had a full training camp, he is starting to show some flashes of someone whose hair is on fire, who's name doesn't begin with V.

I think there is some talent in this guy.  Want to see the Nylander/Barber/Kerfoot line as well as the M/E/H line again.

Hope Hutch can be clutch again.

The Swedish NHL rights are owned by a company called Viaplay. Their sport package is actually pretty good value for money. For 67 Canadian dollars a month you get access to every regular season and playoff game, and you can watch them up to 48 after they finish. Only a few of them will have swedish comentators and intermission talk but that's fine by me, I prefer the original comentators anyway.
You also get access to a bunch of other sports and leagues but that is of litle interest to me.
I might just pay for my hockey moving forward.
What's the cost of full access in Canada?
Last time I looked it was almost $200 for game centre for the season, not sure about access.  If you are a Leaf fan which your moniker assures you are, then that is a lot of entertainment for the next several months of the season.

NHL Live is generally $199.99 for the full season + playoffs. You can sometimes get discounts and early bird pricing too. Because of the shortened schedule it was $179.00 this season, or $159.00 with early bird pricing.

I have to buy a VPN too to get around the blackout restrictions that block all non-nationally televised Leafs games.

That's not too expensive.
A bit anoying with blackout restrictions though.
I wish I could push the price down by removing all the other sports in the package but that's not an option. Who knows, maybe my sport interest will grow and diversify one day.

Looks like Hutchinson gets the nod tonight. And before we harangue and rage, there are a lot of good reasons for this:
1) Campbell is coming back from injury; rest is key to any recovery
2) Campbell took Ennis' hip to the head; Tyler tried to avoid it, but Jack put himself in a vulnerable position trying to smother
3) 10pm start time is a mess for Leafs' rhythm, so why not put the freshest goalie who will not be relied on for multiple starts after this game to take the hit
I don't think I will stay up for this one. If the Leafs manage to win they'll need to score 5+.

Probably making the right decision. I have absolutely no faith in Hutchinson. Every shot directed his way is nerve wracking. Leafs better play as well as they did Saturday or going to be a sh**show.

McDavid won't play like he did Saturday too.

Sweet Christmas, how obnoxious do you have to be to be like this before the puck even drops.

Michael Hutchinson has started 3 games for the Leafs this season.
He is 2-1-0 and has given up 7 goals against, 2 of which were PP goals by Calgary, for an all situations Sv% of 0.924 (0.926 at evens).

Thank you for the super jinx.

He also has a .857 Sv% in 4 career games against Edmonton.

Does that balance out his jinx?

Should also note that it's not even really confirmed Hutch will start.

Nevertheless, if the Leafs start the guy they intended to be their 4th string goalie there's a chance they lose. Even lose by a bunch. And if I predict that every game eventually I'll be right one time and be able to say "See, look at how smart I am" and isn't that ultimately the point of being a Sports fan?

I feel much better now.

The game will be entertaining no matter what happens... McDavid/Draisaitl are amazing to watch. It was fun to see Draisaitl give Marner a little shot last game. If Matthews plays we'll get to watch 4 of the top 5 scorers tonight.

I just don't have much confidence in Hutch. He was awful last year with us played better with Colorado. Yes I will say the defence is better this year but I don't know if it's just me but he looks shaky all the time. Every shot you're like wondering if he's going to make the stop. I hope he plays well as I agree the Oilers especially the stars will be putting in a better effort. Leafs need to stay out of the box again. Keep the big 2 off the PP will certainly help. Oilers are suspect. When McD & Drai are quiet Oilers have nothing else and their D is questionable as well as their goaltending. If Matthews is still out which I'm thinking he will be and we pull out another win I'll be elated. Leafs seem to play pretty good when he's not in the lineup rest of the guys seem to play better. I was pleased with all 4 lines Saturday.

" If only you knew the power of the dark side.... "

I don't know why the Leafs would even bother with this game.  They should just bend the knee to the almighty McJeebus and hunker down in their hotel rooms.

WHO ARE YOU TO QUESTION THE JOURNALISTIC INTEGRITY OF MARK SPECTOR MAKING AN OBSERVATION ABOUT AN OPTIONAL SKATE?

I don't think there was much Ennis could do and certainly nothing illegal but it would be nice if players stopped running into our $*%(&#$%* goalies.

I don't know about you, but ...YES.  ;)
