Amazing what the added defence has done to this team this year !
The team started playing this way in the play ins last season. The personal this year is allowing then to implement it more.

Heck, even before that. Keefe had the team playing better defensively during his part of the regular season, but Andersen's craptastic play just made it difficult to notice. Taking out Barrie and Ceci also help.
Majorly. Bogo is what we wanted out of Ceci. I don't know how he ever got a $4.5M(?) contract... The again I don't know how Zaitsev got that either.

Yeah I think that is something that we really need to be talking about a bit more.  I used December onward for Andersen as Babcock was fired November 20 so that just gave a clean break from post-Babcock to Keefe Leafs.

2021 - 16GP 11-3-2 2.69 GAA .905 SV%
2020 - 31GP 16-8-4 3.13 GAA .901 SV%

I don't think Andersen is necessarily the best goaltender on this team anymore.  He still might be the best starter because we just don't know what Campbell can do with an extended run but I'm not sure he is the best guy in a one off scenario.

Andersen has been very just ok for a full year now.
Ideally you would trade him for something but I think they let him walk.

Answer...Lou....and he did it again in New York - Uncle Leo with a 4 Year deal they are trying to escape from now

Our really annoying third line has been split up amongst the bottom 9 to make each other line a bit hardier at maintaining this lead.

A nice bit of interference gives Edmonton a scoring chance and then Edmonton get a PP a few seconds later.

Barabanov is going to need to start potting goals if he wants to stay in the lineup taking penalties every game.

FWIW Andersen never even really proved to be an an improvement on Reimer. Just cost me and stayed healthier, longer.

Props to him for continuing to work hard, and he definitely looks better than he did early in the season, but I still don't see a NHLer there.

So why's Draisaitl shaking his hand here? It doesn't look like it got touched.

If Matthews weren't having the season he's having, you could make a serious case for Brodie being our MVP.  All I know is that the D looks like a different beast this year.

"Still plenty of time": he's been saying that for the last period and a half.  If he says it again with less than 10 minutes to go I'm going to throw my laptop into the kitchen sink.
