I get being frustrated but three of these goals were the result of great plays by maybe one of the 5 best guys to ever play the game. There is no easy or simple way to defend them and "just cover Crosby" is not it.
All true but you can't just watch him go to the net.

I don't think that happened on any of the goals though.

My frustration is that the Leafs don't even belong on the same ice as the Pens.  It's men against boys.  The Leafs flat out didn't show up.

Just to add insult to injury, they're doing this to us without even having Malkin on the ice.

It's hard to imagine anyone other than Tampa or the Caps or the Pens coming out of the east. They're all significantly better teams than anyone else in the conference.

EDIT: I suppose Boston might be in that conversation but I'm not convinced that they have the depth to be quite as dangerous. If you can contain their top line they don't have much else going on.

I agree Nik, we are a young team with some injury problems and a goaltender who may be showing confidence issues.  It happened to Cary Price, Fleury and all the other greats, just not great timing for us.
Hate to say it but without Rielly skating the puck up ice for 26 minutes a night, its not a great option with such a limited D.
Just wonder where we would be with our number 1 D man and Souperman.  May be missing Mango as well.

I don't really think that's true. Prior to that mess at the end of the power plays the Leafs had given up one 5v5 goal on kind of a flukey tip in.

I like how this team apparently has no depth and is headed for a bigger cap crunch next year.  We may need to revisit trading one of the big contracts to revamp this roster

Said it a million times should never have handed out the money Dubas did. Fuk'd this team royally.
Azzuri, our problem is not on O its on D and its on its way.  Not nice times I know but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, except that light is Sidney C. tonight
At this point everything is the problem ugh. Where is the secondary scoring? If it's not AM34 who is it?

And he scores as I'm typing this.

Good post Highlander. Said it before, we are really missing Rielly.
Matthews is awesome tho.

Wouldn't like my changes LOL Kappanen gone, Nylander gone, Kerfoot gone, Spezza gone, Marincin (how is he still playing?) gone, Clifford gone....

That's a little excessive, even for me. But yes maybe trading one of the top guys is necessary. I feel there's too much of the same type of player (Matthews, Nylander, Marner). Also, JT has been a let down this year. This team has very little character. It needs more Hyman's, Muzzin's.

I predict that 5 goals will be scored in the 3rd period, not sure which team but hoping it is not a team that starts with P and ends with P
