Leafs @ Penguins - Nov 16th - 7:00 pm - CBC

Spezza just waterskiied his check into the boards... so the refs are feeling sorry for us

Meh, they gave Sullivan 25 minutes to challenge so screw 'em.

Nice play by Petan, and great, finish by Spezza. Speaking of Babs and misuse of players...look at what he did and is doing to him. He scratched him for the home opener for absolutely no reason other then being a pick to show who's boss.

They can fire Babcock but that isn't going to solve the poorly constructed D corps.
I agree with that, but Babcock could give Holl and Dermott more icetime, give Ceci less, and play Barrie more to his strengths.
Babs is responsible for how they play. Man on man.. Contain to the outside. The, SYSTEM is on HIM. The way he has the D chasing/forwards breaking/covering is not working.

I have no idea what firing Babcock ultimately would or wouldn't mean but I think it's going to be very very hard to build a winner in an environment where after the record Babcock has had here, he can't have 20 lousy games without fans calling for his head.

They have been the essence of mediocrity for a lot longer than 20.

Last 20 games. They?ve been mediocre for almost a full season. Wake up. This goes back more than just this season. And don?t give me new players excuse because that isn?t the reason.

The only positive thing about this is that it will likely force the leafs to do something. Fire someone, make a trade, call someone up, waive someone whatever ;)

Right on. You work with what you have and adjust. They are so sloppy it ain?t funny and if players don?t want to play defence then ship them out. The system ain?t working and hasn?t for a long time. Tired of saying it Andersen has been this teams MVP over the last 3 years. Our record wouldn?t be anywhere near what it was in the regular season. If we had average goaltending during the regular season we wouldn?t even be talking about Babcock he would have been long gone by now.

Hmm, Barrie with a weird dump in for an easy turnover, and then a really weird backcheck marking someone who was already covered...

They knew he wasn't a great defender ... but what the hey, Kyle thinks, let's get him anyway and you can have Kadri.
Barrie truly is awful. Gards made mistakes but man this is on another level.

I can just smell the comeback.

You're smelling something, all right.  The sweet aroma of putrefaction.
Smelling or smoking?

Honest question, are both of you guys such miserable humourless pricks that you couldn't read that as a joke?

For frig's sakes guys, it's a hockey game. This place used to be a fun place to talk about the game even when the Leafs weren't going well.

Maybe you missed my earlier comment where I said that you, Nik, are fun?  :)
