Just a reminder for those who don't read the thread title, the game is in Nashville and will start at 8:00pm EST.

Lupul's out too? It's gonna be tough winning the next few without 3 of our top 9 forwards, especially as they're 3 of our bigger sized forwards too.

Also, I hear Jones has looked damn good so far.

I thought Lupul had a bruised calf?  I'm hoping he'll play, given our lack of wingers.

Would like to see:
Rielly-Phaneuf
Gardiner-Franson
Gunnar-Brennan

The site I check injuries from had it as knee, but yeah it's calf. I'll change it.

Rielly suddenly on top pairing?  This is Carlyle we're talking about.

Would be interesting to see though, Nashville hasn't historically been the most offensively gifted team, so maybe he could handle a top pairing for this game.

That's more or less what I was thinking.  Also I thought I spotted Rielly-Phaneuf together for a few shifts against Colorado (or was it Ottawa...)

Perhaps alternate Rielly/Gunnar with Dion depending on the game situation, but I have a hunch that it may be our top pairing of the future, so why not look for opportunities to get the seed planted.

plus we'd get to reunite Gardiner/Franson  :D

If it's Bernier between the pipes, then I see a goaltending showdown, with Rinne up to the challenge. Leafs win a tight one.

It'd be nice if Rielly is actually given some time on the PP.  Don't see why he has been held back from that opportunity.  I'd certainly like to see him over Ranger at the least.

I would flip Rielly and Gardiner but yeah this type of re-arrangement would be good to see.  The Preds don't exactly strike fear with their offense, so a good opportunity to try Gardiner with Phaneuf and worry less about having to shut down a top end top line.

I'd really like to see the Gunnarsson-Phaneuf pairing split up too. I think it would make sense to have our two steadiest guys on separate pairings, especially now that Carlyle seems to be using all three pairings a little more evenly than last season.

I'm also pretty excited to see Brennan play. I've been touting him as a perfect 7th defenceman since training camp so I'm hoping he makes me look good.

It's also good that he prefers to play the right side, we have a lot of left side defensemen.

Yeah, that's a plus. I wonder how much playing on the right side is effecting Ranger. I mean, it must be tough enough as it is playing in the NHL right now after the time off he took, playing on the different side of the ice can't be making that any easier.

I don't know what the hell is wrong with Ranger.  He was getting so much hype and apparent interest from other NHL teams and he's so bad right now.

Ainorite? He's playing like a guy who has only played 4 NHL games since 2010!
