It looks like Josh Leivo and T.J. Brennan are the #leafs scratches in Nashville. Joffrey Lupul is in despite bruised calf.

That's somewhat disappointing as I wanted to see both those Marlies in the line-up. Brennan in for Ranger seems like a no-brainer for me at this point. And while I get that Leivo was likely Lupul's replacement, I don't see the need for Ashton, Bodie, Broll, and Orr all in the line-up at the same time. Especially if Randy will continue to load up the top-6 and have Kadri play with two of those guys. But hey, that's Carlyle hockey I guess.

Kadri needs a guy who can shoot on his wing.  Has Randy forgotten all those key games we won last year because our "3rd line" with Kadri and Frattin or Kadri and MacArthur outscored the opposition while the other lines were neutral with their competition?

Do we have any shooters in the system comparable to Frattin or MacArthur?

We're a week and a half into the season, and already the team's forward depth looks to be a problem.

Yeah I was gonna say, if those guys in the AHL were meant to look great (as reinforcements) then they probably shouldn't be in the AHL. They're AHL level talent for a reason.

Leivo looked good in the preseason.

Maybe it's just me, but I would think it would be easier putting a defense on the wing, then a winger on defense.  Play Gardiner on the wing. :)

If Randy doesn't use Kadri in a proper offensive role tonight, I'm going to lose my beans. Last year he was the one who got it done 5 on 5.  But he's not going to get it done this year playing with Colton effing Orr and [random AHLer].  The team needs a spark.

Yep. In about 2 weeks we'll have " traded" for 2 top 6 forwards and that will help quite a bit.

Just watching the Wings and Yotes game. The Wings announcers are incredibly dull. Interestingly they just said Bisonette was banned 10 games for leaving the bench for a fight but had it reduced to 3 on appeal so is back playing tonight.

Anywho, don't know a huge amount about the Preds, not a team I've seen too often. Hopefully we can generate a bit more offence than the other night v Colorado but looking at the roster I'm not too confident on that.

Kessel is -8 in 5 games v Nashville, apparently.

Leivo and Broll are both in tonight. Bodie sits.

Well there goes my hope of Randy keeping Bodie around when McLaren heals up.

Yeah, probably, but, at the same time, I'd like to see what Ashton can do given a 3rd line role where he's not expected to merely be filler on the face punching line. He might actually get the chance for like 2 games. Maybe.

Yeah, but I don't see him sticking around when we're healthy. Randy's going to want two fighters playing, I just hope one of them doesn't suck. Bodie could have been that guy. Not it's up to Broll.

Go Broll!

Probably not, no. I'm hoping Broll can be a Komarov-esque presence on the 4th line. He's been more of a guy who's willing to fight than a guy who looks to fight in his junior career.
