Fraser good job giving the puck to Spezza before the goal.

You know, I was putting up with Fraser because I liked his stay-at-home bent, as well as the physicality but man he's standing out like a sore thumb - and in an awful way since he's returned.

But he'll continue to play.  :-[

Just because the refs don't call it doesn't mean it was the right call.

Sure. In this case, though, I think it was. Regardless, at worst it's an interference call caused by the bad bounce.

Either Carlyle doesn't want to clamp down a bit defensively or these guys just don't get it. With the injuries you think we would try and tighten up. Horrible night after night giving up so many shots.

They don't need to tighten up. It's trying to "tighten up" that causes them to sit back and give up leads. They need to keep playing a well-rounded hockey game.

I don't mean to keep harping on it but this was the first sequence of that power play. Kadri loses the faceoff, Phaneuf can't keep the clearing attempt in, the Leafs carry the puck up and Kessel casually loses possession because he can't get the puck past his man.

But, of course, this is "Carlyle hockey".

Has Kessel done one thing in the third period that is noteworthy? Has Phaneuf? The best chance on that crucial PP came from the second unit because they were able to maintain possession. At some point the discussion has to turn to the frankly lousy play of the guys who are looking to get paid like they're some of the best players in the league.

Did Gunnarsson's stick not get blatantly hooked on that breakaway? Not that he'd ever score on a penalty shot but I thought they always called that.
