Maple Leafs @ Flyers - Jan. 8th, 7:00pm - TSN4, Fan 590

After a couple of crappy games you can't complain about the way they've taken care of business this weekend.  Nice to see Murray and Samsonov play well back to back.

Let's hope it's a sign of a good roll by both of them.

If they both settle in at .915-.920 I'd be pretty happy.

Timmins is making a great case that he shouldn't wait until next year to get into the lineup regularly

It's never quite worked out whenever Keefe has briefly tried it in the past but I wonder if he attempts to run 7D in a line-up again soon. It's not like either Hunt or Simmonds are really showing they 100% deserve to be playing as the 12th forward anyway.

Marner's 5-on-5 numbers last night were pretty comical.

6:31 of ice-time (blowout+lots of PP and PK time). On ice shot attempts were 8-8. On ice shots were 4-5. On ice goals were 3-1. The Leafs scored on 3 of 4 shots that were taken with Marner on the ice at 5-on-5. He had assists on 2 of those.

Oh and on the PK he played 5:19 total with the shot attempts actually going in Toronto's favour 5-4 in that time. Actual shots were 5-2 in Toronto's favour.

Leafs are back in 3rd in the NHL standings.  They are technically tied with Carolina for 2nd in total points but Carolina has a game in hand.

Carolina only has 18 regulation wins with 4 OT wins and 3 shootout wins to match Toronto's 25 wins.

Carolina has a 4 point lead on the Metro division.  Toronto is 11 points back of Boston (with Boston having a game in hand).

Nice things.  We are never allowed to have them.

For funsies, you guy should read GDTs from October. Fun times.

I probably should have brought this up earlier but I was hacked in October and didn't get my account back until November.
