Well at least this trade shows that if we ever needed to get rid of an overpaid and over the hill goalie with years left on his deal someone out there would probably take him.

It's exchanging one likely declining goalie for another, with a less solid track record.

All this fuss over this 36 year old goalie while he seems to have had one respectable playoff run in his 16 year NHL career. He's only made the playoffs 3 times. I do not understand the NHL talent assessment of this position. His agent could be a great used car salesman.

I think Carolina gets the Buyck

Friedman felt that Carolina did not have what the Jets wanted. He thinks Buffalo has the best shot to get him because of what they have to offer.
Friedman has heard a lot of rumors of the Devils going after him but he didn't have much confidence in them.

Friedman also felt that because of the Markstrom deal, he thinks the Leafs will sign Bobrovsky which might make your notion of Stolarz heading home to New Jersey come true.
